I enjoyed a fantastic buffet meal on Thanksgiving day in the main restaurant. The service was excellent and a special mention must be made to Waseem and Gayatri, who very extremely profesional and helpful with describing what cuisine was on offer in the buffet. I must also congratulate the Head Chef for an excellent array of food and also the food and beverage team for the beautiful presentation and effort made . I will definitely return in the future.

Expectations not met

Had high expectations having read the reviews on TA. Unfortunately things started badly and went downhill from there. Was met at the arrival area by a rude and aggressive staff member who kept telling me to move the car. I presumed when he realised we were checking in he would calm down but he must have been having a bad day and continued to berate me to hurry up and move the car when we'd barely got our luggage out. Complained about his behavior to the receptionist at check in but she just shrugged and said she would find out what went on but I never heard back. Things went worse when we arrived at the beach area and were told by the beachside staff that no sun beds were available and no help offered to help find any. This meant me having to search the area and eventually find some empty sunbeds. They then took ages to set up the beds and did so grudgingly. To my surprise they acted completely differently when another local couple appeared and quickly moved sunbeds to the front line spot and cleaned them and provided towels which they did'nt do for us. I can only assume this couple were royalty as there appeared to be a 2 tier service here. To top off a bad day tried calling housekeeping for turndown in the evening but no one answered for 30 mins. Spoke to the Concierge whilst leaving for dinner to please inform housekeeping to clean the room and was assured to would be done as the room was messy after having had showers and rested in the beds. Sure enough coming back from dinner at 10.30pm the room had'nt been touched. Complained to reception and were told to wait in the lounge to have it cleaned. This was unpleasant for my wife and child as there were several loud groups there and being very tired not what we want to be doing late at night. Various excuses were put forward why the cleaning took so long but eventually one of the managers admitted the housekeepers were short staffed and had simply forgotten to do the cleaning. So after a long tiring wait we eventually slept after midnight which meant the next day was ruined. Other irritations were the butler introducing himself on our last day offering his services when we were not told this service existed. Also we couldnt find the hair dryer a member of staff simply opened the door and let himself in which caused panic for my young daughter who had just come out of the shower. I complained to the front office director about these issues and thought we had agreed a partial refund for the poor service but he somehow failed to register this and we had another unpleasant experience. What a shame as this place has great potential but sadly the service is did not match our expectations.
More like a Marriott Resort than a St Regis

Travelled during the weekdays and this is place is running like a zoo. Can’t image if we were here on weekends. I did not realize that there are St Regis managed apartments adjacent to the hotel, and they are also selling day passes to locals. Pros: upgraded to a suite with point redemption with platinum status, staff on the beach are nice and very responsive. Cons: No one check Al Honso; at 8am, all chairs and cabanas next to the pools are occupied by magazines, sandals and beach bags; breakfast was an utter mess. They have many trainees who were obviously not knowing what to do, long lines and take forever to order and wrong items were delivered several times. Butler service was also non-existent.
