Good facilities, but didn't expect so many permanent residents
Kids loved the bball, tennis and pool, but the site was fairly empty of tourists, given that it was Christmas school holidays. Didn't feel like a Big 4 at all. Some of the facilities were a bit old, BBQ's didnt heat up, and camp kitchen pretty basic. All was clean.
Powered camping site
Beautiful friendly clean and modern park. Plenty of amenities, which were modern and clean. Great location and not far from the beach and shopping facilities. Great size sites and plenty for kids to do. Our dog was also made feel welcome. Will be staying there again.
Great location, family friendly.
We stayed as a family with a group of friends and their families. The location was great, close to the beach ( a path is directly opposite the main gate, no need to walk along main road like we did at first). Shops are nearby for essentials, coffee etc. Yet you still feel away from it all. Lots of kids activities such as free sausage sizzle, treasure hunts, numping castle, pumpt bike track, mini golf, jumping pillow, playground, tennis, giant chess, basketball and colouring in competitions ( bring your own pencils, i was told at check in about competition and when I mentioned I didn't have pencils the lady seemed surprised and almost smirked...I was stressed after organising everything.) The cabin was number 13 and better than expected. It was spacious and a great layout for our family. The heating was great. It had Foxtel ( we had no idea how to get it working but the kids used our friends in number 14). One bedroom had a double bed and the second room had a bunk with single on top and double on the bottom. The sheets were provided and clean. I am particular with cleaning and it was satisfactory. The downfalls were the couch hadn't been swept under for a long time, the toilet wasn't great...old urine stains near lid, black mould in bathroom. I was surprised as if thought it would have been spotless after not bring used and cleaned with covid -19. The staff were nice ( they did advise our other party however that I hsd not checked in or paid?? Of course this was incorrect as we paid in arrival and recieved our cabin key and gate code etc. I would return as overall it was a great stay and kids enjoyed it.
School Holiday Stay
We stayed at this park recently over the January school holidays. This park is not within walking distance to any facilities, beach or shops. The road at the front of the park is a 100km zone and is in no way appropriate to take young children riding or walking to the beach/cafes. During our stay the facilities offered to the children such as a jumping castle and inflatable waterslides were only available on the weekend. Throughout the week we had to ask at reception multiple times for the equipment to be inflated but were told it was too windy or that staff were not available to supervise which was required for safety reasons. Finally after numerous park patrons requests the slides were inflated as one of the fathers had volunteered to supervise. Thankfully we supervise our own children as the young girl supervising over the weekend was more interested in the young males using the equipment to perform her job and maintain safe use of the slides. It was also disappointing that the equipment was then deflated at 4pm each day despite daylight savings. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at this park. We had a tree branch fall on our car, a dead bird on the site next to us for 2 days, the camp oven was broken and with what seemed like permanent residents, there was a constant flow of people coming and going at all hours of the night and day. Despite my negative remarks the toilet/shower facilities were always clean and tidy. We won’t stay again.
Ok but not great
We stayed for 19 nights in a powered site. We were allocated the only fully exposed site in the park in the middle of summer, reason given was we booked online.. not really good enough particularly given we’d booked several months in advance. Managers offered to move us to another site but as we’d fully set up that was not convenient and thought should have gone into site allocation. Site was also riddled with bull ants on arrival which requires ant dust to remove. Luckily we decided last minute not to bring our dog as the site would have been totally unsuitable for a dog to stay in our annex. Children’s games room was also full of red back spiders, again something that should have been given attention to in advance. The overall facilities were great with pool, tennis court, jumping pillow and playground which we enjoyed.
