Beds and pillows very comfortable. Automatic room darkening electric window shades were pretty cool with the push of a button. The breakfast was very good and changed up with new items every day! Lots of different options. Staff was helpful and courteous! Loved the indoor pool too. Highly recommend Tucci's Italian restaurant close by!

Wanted to like but didn’t

Hotel seemed new but I don’t recommend it. Pros 1. Friendly staff — from the male at check-in to the female breakfast attendant 2. Hotel is new so bad some newish features like a bench for suitcases Cons 1. Hard to find the entry road 2. Very loud road noise from 57 3. Some spaces, like hallway floors, and part of bathroom, were not fully clean Bourbonnais doesn’t have great hotel options, but I don’t recommend this one

Got a late checkout, but not without a big fat hassle!

I was in room 426, checked in with my boyfriend on 12/22/21. Around maybe 8:30am I called the front desk and asked for a late checkout. Nothing crazy, just an extra hour. I go back to sleep and at 10AM some guy from housekeeping busts the door open. I said, "I'm still in here!" (Not mean, just loud enough for him to hear) And he apologized and immediately backed out of the room. No biggie, mistakes happen, but I was a little annoyed as it wasn't even the NORMAL checkout time. THEN, at 11:15 the same guy starts pounding on the door. I go open the door and told him I got a late checkout for noon. He says, "Sooo what like 12, 12:30?" ......I said yes, 12. He says okay and leaves. THEN not even a minute later I got a call in my room from the front desk asking me when I asked for a late checkout! I calmly explained that I had called around maybe 8:30 and asked for a late checkout at noon and he told me he had put me down for that. The gentleman on the phone says okay thank you and hangs up. THEN I get my things together, straighten up my room, trying to make it as easy as I can for housekeeping (I was only there for one night, not much to do anyway) and as I'm putting my coat on to leave I notice the time on my phone hit 12:00 EXACTLY and then at that moment housekeeping started POUNDINGGGG on the door relentlessly until I could yell loud enough over it that I was walking out of the room. I could hear the guy housekeeper out in the hallway say something to a girl with her cart. He disappeared into another room. I came into the hallway and the girl housekeeper apologized very nicely. I told her it was fine and to have a nice day. If I knew that requesting a late checkout was going to lead to this sh*t I would not have bothered. The room was wonderful and very clean and quiet, the beds comfortable. Breakfast was decent, although half of it was empty. The girl that checked us in was very nice. But wow, I have never felt so unwelcome somewhere in my life, that was actually embarrassing. If that's what happens when someone gets a late checkout, then DON'T OFFER IT ANYMORE. Unbelievable. Work on communicating.

Manager is threatening and over charges

I booked initially for nine nights and on the seventh day my business plans changed and advise them that I would be checking out on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. A gentleman on the afternoon shift said that he would adjust the reservation and he did. I checked out on Tuesday and on that day they sent me the correct invoice. The next day they sent me another invoice for several hundred dollars more. I called and the front desk lady was very confused so she put me through to a manager who kept repeating did you tell them this last night? That would’ve meant that I indeed stayed the whole nine nights. I kept answering and got frustrated. He directed me to not be frustrated with him and to talk to him in a better manner. This was A guy that would not believe what I was saying and said that he would have to verify with the guy that adjusted my reservation. I told him I could provide him with the invoice and my plane ticket proving I left. He refused to give good customer service and almost insisted that I pay twice. I called the IHG® customer service line and they said they would have to refer me back to the very manager that tried to be intimidating to me on the phone. All of the staff there are absolutely great, the rooms are clean, breakfast is good and I would always stay there for business up until now. This manager does not trust his customers and has no problem charging you for days that you have not been there and when you are not happy about it he will try to intimidate you on the phone. don’t stay here. I already talked to my corporate credit card company and they will dispute any charges that are not consistent with the first invoice. I am a very Busy corporate person and really don’t have time to call around and straighten out things that could’ve been straightened out and a single phone call with a manager who is actually somebody who has no business in the customer service business. There are several properties really really close to this one. Stay there. One thing that I will mention is that one of the days that I stayed on the last day, the housekeeper left my door open all day And when I got back it was propped open. I reported this to the front desk who said that she would relay it to her manager and I am sure it is the same guy that tried to intimidate me on the phone, he never followed up with me about it at all. If this is a corporate owned hotel then IHG should really look at this guy and remove him from all their properties.

No masks guests or employees

A lot of employees and guests are not wearing masks despite the signs posted everywhere saying how seriously they take your safety. When I got the hotel last night there was a group of about 20 construction workers all hanging out at the breakfast tables and not a single one had a mask on. This morning, 2 of the 3 employees I saw were not wearing masks.
