Grand Hotel Alassio

This hotel is definitely far away from a 5 star hotel. Staff does not speak English (except those who are working at the reception). Staff is very lazy and unmotivated. At breakfast we had to wait 15 minutes until someone came so that we can order. I ordered 2 fried eggs, well done and my friend 2 hard boiled eggs. (Both of us are pregnant, therefore, we cannot eat raw eggs.) After 15 minutes, we got raw eggs. Both of us. I told the waitress that we ordered well done eggs. Her reply was "I know, I wrote well done for those in the kitchen". 20 Minutes later we received our eggs, I received again 2 raw fried eggs and my friend got only one boiled egg. (The reason why only one egg, we do not know) We were so pissed off. The waitress looked at us and expressed with her body language that she is angry at us. She was not able to say sorry. Very unfriendly and unpolite people working at this hotel. Empty dishes were not taken during breakfast. They just wait until you finish breakfast and then, they clean your table. I have been to a 3 star hotel, and even there, the service was not like in Grand Hotel Alassio. At the beach, our husbands ordered champagner for 125€. They brought it and the glasses were lying the whole day at the beach. Nobody is coming to take them. I cannot understand this. Furthermore, I would like to mention that I have not seen people around us at the beach to order anything. But now I know why. We were so pissed off and fed up with this miserable service so that we decided to leave one night earlier. After having a long chat with the hotel manager, he finally agreed to cancel our last night so that we can go earlier home. I definitely do NOT recommend this hotel. We paid 450€ per night for a seaview room, which is not worth the money. I regret that I spent my summer holidays in this hotel. Never again!!!!

Since years we have been staying at the Grand Hotel Alassio and it is by far one of the best and most iconic Hotels in the region of Liguria. It’s situated directly at the beach and offers everything you need and even beyond. You can enjoy the private sandy beach with your own private sun bed & use the hotels pedalo, stand up paddle and other gadgets. If you have any questions Luca and Elia (Beach Managers) are ready to assist. The rooms are perfectly clean, modern and if you choose sea view you can enjoy sunrise and sunset from the balcony. At the Gazebo you can enjoy very sophisticated dishes created by the amazing chef Roberto. Lunch or dinner can also he serves at the Bistro were they make amazing pizza. There is also secure parking on the private parking floor of the hotel. Since the beginning of this year the owners of the hotel have employed a new director and we have been witnessing some beautiful improvements. He is very worried about the guests wellbeing and is always present. We had a small request and he made everything happen as we desired. Definitely coming back not only for the beautiful city of Alassio but also for the relaxing experience at the hotel.

Location, breakfast and beach amenities are very good, in line with the price and ranking of the hotel. I find that the price/quality ratio gets a hit only for the size of the rooms: considering average prices for Alassio, rooms are on the smaller side.

We have stayed in this hotel a few times winter and summer and the service rooms and restaurant remain excellent. Incredibly helpful reception, super secure garage with electric charging point for car. Wonderful restaurant : especially in terms of the location on the beach terrace this summer with an excellent chef who always produces delicious dishes. The beach is lovely and the beach manager helpful and attentive. I highly recommend the lovely terrace rooms. Breakfast on these overlooking the sea and sun up is the perfect way to start the day. After a quick dip in the sea of course. Th grand hotel is just as it should be. GRAND

After traveling through Switzerland and then to the Monaco Grand Prix, we were ready to relax in a sleepy little town on the Italian Riviera. Alassio fit the bill and the Grand Hotel was a perfect complement to an already great vacation. The staff that we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was a delightful ocean front room with a tremendously large terrace. Breakfast was included and offered a very wide variety. It was a little rainy when we arrived, but the following day was sunny enough for us to enjoy the beach and the lounge chairs. Overall a wonderful stay. Hope to return to Alassio and to the Grand Hotel. Was a very pleasant experience.
