Family Break
We went to Villa Petra on the basis of the fantastic reviews. The fact is I wouldn't stay there again. Reception staff very unfriendly. Member of staff round the pool I'm sure waits till he can tell you about what you are doing wrong. On arrival the bathroom floor was filthy, had to ask the cleaner to come in to mop it. Worrying during Covid. Buffet was extremely limited, same food all the time. The price should have been reduced to reflect this. The staff in the restaurant were a joy.
Nice place to stay
The apartments are very big and the service is good. There are 2 swimmingpools en the are always enough sunbeds. The take the Corona regulations very serious and the breakfast is also fine. We had a very pleasant stay here.
Big two bedroom apartment
We had a lovely stay, thank you. Positives: - Two bedroom apartment was very big and clean - Thought the staff were friendly - Friendly welcome on arrival - Family friendly hotel Negatives: - for us, the location. The strip of bars and restaurants wasn't our cup of tea, it was in fact quite a dirty looking street and I was offered weed / coke several times, just coming back from the shop. Maybe I looked like I needed it! But to be whispered if I want drugs while I had little children with us is pretty bad. Because of this we hired a car and went to places near by, mainly Villamoura. Went to carvoeiro for the day as well. Beach Olhos de Água is a really close and has a really nice small beach, although very busy. Overall, cannot fault the hotel, the staff, pool etc. It was all really nice, the downside for us was the location wasn't for us but the car hire solved this for us.
Exceptional Staff!
We have just got home after spending 10 days at this lovely hotel! Firstly I’ll mention the exceptional awareness to Covid 19, providing anti bacterial wash throughout the hotel, visible social distancing markings throughout and the strict face mask rules! We felt very safe and looked after for our duration of our stay! The staff were exceptional throughout the hotel. Very helpful and welcoming on the reception desk, the cleaning staff were very polite, friendly and accommodating! And the catering, restaurant, buffet, pool bar staff were absolutely amazing!!!! They went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, nothing was too much trouble! The breakfast buffet was delicious and the variety for lunch was fantastic! (We stayed full board... just wish they had an all inclusive board!) The hotel is in a great spot, 15min casual walk to the beach, with the strip very close by! Thank you to all the staff that we came across, you are all wonderful!
