Out in the wonderful nature of Portugal

The staff was very caring. They helped us stay dry during a rainstorm during check-in. We were impressed with the large rooms and firm beds. The breakfast was better than the dinner, but very good overall. We took an olive oil tour and a wine tasting tour, both well worth the time and money... the guides were local and spot-on. We felt like we were in the middle of authentic Portugal, away from the crowds of Lisbon.

Natural Beauty and peace, beyond words. This place restores the soul. Every person I have met in this place wants to help the guests have an amazing experience. Walking and biking trails on property are endless. Massage with Sara...restorative, skilled, calm, and delightful. Rooms were clean, wine in room as gift, and the dinners delicious.
With great prices, comes great responsabiities

I will be back, that's for sure, but I really hope that service level at both restaurants improves drastically.
One of our meals took almost 2 hours to get the main courses. That is unacceptable.
The food ranges from ok to very good but even that shouldn't happen.
The place is great, simple yet impecably created. Minimalistic yet authentic.
Lovely Hotel, excessive prices

We stayed just the one night at a cost of over €500. The reception and check in were excellent and most promising.
We had had a few hours driving to reach the Hotel so decided to spend a couple of hours by the pool. The experience was delightful & the service at the pool; well worth the 5 stars. To be served with fruit juice, wine, fruit, cool flannels and more, all without extra charge, is just what one really appreciates.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean; the beds very generous in size.
Dinner was the major let-down, as unfortunately a number of things really went wrong. On arriving at our table, we were offered the most expensive champagne (€25 per glass) & informed that they did not have our wish, being Portuguese bubbly. Turns out they did. Short-staffed, bubbly was short measured; between ordering a glass of wine & receiving it took about 12 minutes…….enough time for my main course to get cold. What a shame, as the dish was actually lovely.
The wine list is rather sparse, because the Hotel is part of a vineyard. However, their wines do not match the 5 star category, so one is left with part of the evening heavily unfulfilled by lack of quality wines by the glass. Ironic for a Quinta,
One sits on long benches outside (inside are chairs), which for my way of thinking is too short on quality.
Overall, a let-down because even though the whole experience is very positive; the value for money is nowhere close to where it should be.
So, please please management team, improve the few elements which are heavily short of quality so that your guests feel that they have spent their money wisely at your establishment.

This ranks up there with one of the best hotel stays that I have ever experienced. From start to finish the hotel is perfection. Located in the shadow of a medieval village, the grounds and facilities are first class. This dramatic farmhouse has been converted into a luxury oasis. The bar is set up so that you can sit outside and get a front-row seat for the sunset over the mountain. The pool is set off in a grassy field with views of the property and the stables. The restaurant is lovely. All of the produce, wine, and olive oil are local and or grown right on the property. The rooms are comfortable, large and luxe. My only criticism was that dinner service as a little slow and I didn't LOVE the meal (breakfast was great) AND there might be one too many children on the property. But that's nice for families.... One other note is the extraordinary afternoon tea service. The ice tea that they served was just too good for words. I dont even like iced tea. LOL!
