Hotel Altafulla Mar

Lovely and welcoming hotel! Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was big and very comfortable. What wonderful pillows! Our daughter had a great time in the "mini club". The garden and the swimming pool were fantastic. You can enjoy live music and different shows. The food is delicious; the new flexitarian restaurant "Aromatic" is superb and the Japanese "Suko" magnificent. The hotel is just three-minute walking distance from the beach. Altafulla is a beautiful, small, calm town. Definitely, we'll come back.

They have a new gastro concept – “Gastrobar” is now called “Aromatic, fresh and healthy food”. The outside area of the restaurant is refurbished, nice ceiling deco, it proposes a relaxed and yet sophisticated atmosphere. The dishes – as before: ingredients best quality, preparation tasty and presentation top. This time we had salads, followed by the rigatoni, respectively the salmon – perfectly done, also for the eye. Also, the wine list comes again with a well chosen variety of local wines – my favorite: always a “Monsant”. The staff is helpful and friendly, and quick. And, important these days, the health security measures: tables have distance. Cuttlery comes in a sealed bag, menue cards are one-way prints, and all staff is wearing masks. What is to mention on the down-side? The background sound, for my feelin, could be a little softer. We will be returning soon, also to enjoy the live music entertainment Thurs to Sunday (see my other post). Observation: I'll upload pictures later, my pc notebook does not comply (sic)

This was our forth visit to this Hotel and we keep returning as we feel it has everything which we look for in a holiday - excellent Hotel , sandy beach with good sea swimming and the whole area is very scenic . The Hotel is very well run and supervised with a friendly staff , particularly on reception and we always book half board as the food is very Spanish and first class.The grounds,swimming pools and public rooms are well designed . My wife would like more drawer space in the bedrooms but overall the rooms are very clean and there is sufficient space .

Visited this hotel in July when we brought our youngest one to a Spanish summer camp. The hotel was clean but rooms were small (especially for the 3 of us) and overpriced. The service was mediocre. Altafulla is a beautiful place though and we enjoyed our dinners at the beach. We plan to visit the area again but will choose a different hotel.

An enjoyable week, despite the weather being a bit iffy. We had stayed overnight before and liked the location. Reception staff excellent and very welcoming. There was a jolly atmosphere over the weekend as they were hosting a wedding party, mainly from Wales who gave an excellent singing performance on the Saturday evening. I’m not sure if September is considered out of season, but outside of the weekend, finding the poolside cafe open was very hit and miss and the opening times were not advertised. Our main issue was the continued lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. A few more pictures in hallways and rooms would be an improvement. We had looked forward to eating in the bar/restaurant area one evening but, were a little unsettled by the apparent assumption that we were on half board. Being presented with a photocopied menu on a clipboard was very downbeat in what are attractive surroundings. We left and went elsewhere and we trust the Hotel will take this as a constructive criticism. The staff are all to be commended on their care for their customers and we will certainly consider a return, travel jug and coffee concealed in the luggage.
