Ideal location

Reviewed 20 february, 2022

Overnight stay here en- route to Calais.Room clean and comfortable , quiet room over-overlooking the Courtyard. Breakfast was fine, and we enjoyed visiting the Brasserie across the road. Hotel within an easy walk to the local places of interest.Thank you to the receptionist for his assistance regarding the car park.

Ridiculously hot

Reviewed 7 december, 2021

I've been using this hotel since 2005 on and off and its steadily gone downhill and is now quite tired and overdue for a refresh. On my last visit (December 2021) staff were completely disinterested in scanning my French covid app, something that every tabac and restaurant did as a matter of course. For some reason the whole hotel was heated to about 26 degrees and the only way I could sleep was by turning the room thermostat right down and opening the window. At 9.45pm he bar was deserted, unlit and took some time for a member staff to arrive, only for the singel beer on offer to run out. All in all, not a great experience, especially after our stay in the Saint-Omer Ibis which is really welcoming and well run.

Good location and clean!

Reviewed 27 september, 2021

We chose this hotel because it was close to the centre and the main attractions in Amiens. The hotel was clean and our room was small but comfortable. We had a nice view and no noise at night. We only used the bar one night and was fine. The staff was lovely!

Disappointing

Reviewed 9 september, 2021

I've stayed in many Ibis's before, mostly in the UK and always been happy with the value and service they offer. This one was disappointing. I checked in online and my credit card was pre authorised for 130 euros. I'd fully prepaid earlier. When the pre auth was refunded to my card, I'd lost out on the currency exchange. Not by a lot so I didn't make a fuss but I cant see why I should be penalised. The online check was supposed to enable me to just walk in and pick up a key - this didn't happen. Additionally I'm a member of the Accor loyalty programme and should have been offered a free drink that also didn't happen. The room itself was very small and a bit run down. The hotel carpark is under the building three floors down but with no lift and no internal access. Staff were pleasant enough but I won't be going back to this hotel.

Lived up to expectations

Reviewed 19 august, 2020

We were looking for a stop over that was close to Calais after a weeks trip around France. I would certainly recommend Amiens for that. The Ibis in Amiens is a bit worn and needs a refit. I have stayed at Ibis hotels before and although budget, they are normally better appointed than this one. Despite this, our welcome was by far the best out of all the hotels we have stayed in during our trip. There is a car park at the rear which is quite an experience if driving a right hand side car. Very scary! Social distancing and covid precautions were good, indeed better than the five star hotels we stayed in. The room had a very comfy bed but all looked a bit dogeared. The bathroom was tired but the shower was great. In fairness, it was just what we wanted and expected. The Ibis is a five minute walk into the town. Great shopping and the light show at the cathedral at 10pm is a must. The restaurants by the river are great but do your homework as there are better and cheaper places to eat. We would return.
