Suite was very nice and relaxing!

While the suite I was in was very comfortable, I completely forgot about the train tracks right behind the hotel. The People Mover is a great way to get throughout Anchorage for only $5 for unlimited rides a day. Since I was in a suite, I did benefit from a microwave, fridge and dishes I could use. I would highly recommend staying here if you will be there for an extended period of time and want to cook in your room.
Great location and ample size

I could have given this place a 5 out of 5 because of its location, kitchen and size. I only gave it a 4 because there's no AC and one of the windows didn't open. It was rather warm when we checked in it 4 pm. It is an old hotel but our room felt like an apartment. We are old folks who like to walk. We spent one afternoon walking downtown Anchorage.
Avoid. Cited for supposedly free parking at hotel's paid parking lot. Hotel screwed up and I am stuck with a bill.

The hotel parking lot is a paid lot (and guests are supposed to be able to park for free, according to the hotel manager). I got cited and received a parking ticket, and the hotel mgr said they have voided the ticket and wrote to me to confirm. Several months later I received a bill from my car rental agency informing me that I received a parking citation. Apparently, the hotel mgr did not void the parking ticket with the parking agency. I called the hotel and basically was told it's my problem now. So I have to call the parking agency who cited me and the car rental agency. There's NO FREE parking at this hotel.

This hotel is great for using the train station, it's a 5 minute walk. The guy working at the front desk is less than friendly, but perhaps he was having a bad day. The rooms are very large and the bed was great. They do not offer breakfast or an airport shuttle. So, we may look elsewhere when we go back to Anchorage.
Convenient spot, perfectly fine

We thought this was a perfectly nice hotel. The furnishings are a bit dated but it’s a perfectly adequate spot. It’s got a good location. We took a train at one point so it was incredibly convenient for that and I wasn’t bothered by the noise. We had a suite and it had a fridge and other conveniences which was also handy
