Very nice stay. Clean hotel. Quaint and quite. Close to train station. Staff was very nice and helpful. Free breakfast was good! Nice walk aong the bay on a city trail. Easy access to restaurants and shops. No car needed. Glad we stayed here.

Cute and cozy hotel with the best staff and manager Teri! It has a charm that will be missed. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is in a perfect location to great coffee shops and restaurants. Will defiantly stay here on our next trip to anchorage.

A pleasant step back in time...

We love staying in historic hotels and the Historic Anchorage Hotel did not disappoint! This place is well maintained, they have a friendly staff and the best location in downtown Anchorage. They serve an excellent hot breakfast starting at 6am so that you can catch the 8am northbound Alaskan Railroad only a ten minute walk from the hotel. There are many restaurants and gift shops within walking distance. The rooms were small, what you would expect from a historic hotel but they have been well maintained. The ghost stories were also a plus!

Would certainly stay here again!

Service was friendly and helpful. Perhaps best located hotel in Anchorage for vacationing - very short walk to rail station, trolly, restaurants, many downtown attractions. Our standard queen room was clean and quiet, though extremely small. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast offered the hot and cold items one would expect at a chain motel - decent variety but the instant oatmeal, sugar-infused belgium waffles, machine-made pancakes and corn syrup were pretty bad. Better syrup, if not maple, would have helped. The so-so breakfast and small room were minor deficits for us and I would certainly stay here again.

I stayed 4 nights here over 3 separate check ins. I have previously stayed at Capt Cook and the Sheraton. I wanted a smaller property. The staff is consistent so they get to know you which is exactly what I wanted. The rooms are larger which is nice. The upholstery shows it’s age. There isn’t a restaurant on site but good food nearby. Location couldn’t be better. I walked to train station and returned via bus from Denali and walked to hotel. Very central. Hotel kept my large quantity of bags while I went to Denali. I recommend this hotel.
