Great B&B minutes from Anchorage Airport
Reviewed 1 july, 2021
We recently had a late night flight into Anchorage and chose the Jewel Lake B&B as it was minutes away from the airport. The directions were great and we were able to let ourselves in. Our room was cozy, comfortable and quiet. After a restful nights sleep we were up really early and the coffee and yogurt were perfect and then we were off to Denali. I fully recommend this B&B and wish I was able to spend more time there.
Great spot not far from the airport

We had a late flight in and had made arrangements to stay at the Jewel Lake Bed & Breakfast. Because we picked blindly we didn’t know what to expect. Pleasantly surprised as it was a very short drive from the airport and the instructions and door code in the confirmation email was very clear. We let ourselves in and enjoyed how clean and comfortable he room was. The lodging was very nice and cozy. It had a very cabin-esque feel that was a great first impression for our Alaska trip. It was very clean and very tidy, you can tell the owners take pride in their lodging. Definitely recommend if you are staying in the area or have a late flight in.
OK PLace but no breakfast

My daughter and I chose this B&B because of the full breakfast advertised on the website. It turns out this is only available April to August...something not mentioned on the website or anywhere else prior to check in. Bit of a bait and switch. The place was nice enough and clean enough. We were one of the only guests there, so it was quiet and private. I can imagine that it would be much different when it is full. The guest kitchen is nice, esp. when it turns out you need to make your own hot breakfast if you want one. It would be great for families and people who like communal living and also want a place to cook so they can save on meals.

We recently made our first trip to Alaska and saw this B&B come up as an option. We were on the fence at first since it was off season and we saw that there were different policies on breakfast. But when we made the reservation we also asked if it would be possible to get breakfast one morning of our stay. We reserved 2 rooms since we are a family of 5. The rooms were clean and comfortable and our girls really like staying someplace that wasn't a standard hotel. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We did even get waffles, sausage, and eggs one morning with homemade fire weed syrup. Next time we will be in the area we plan on looking to see if they have room.
Alaska Suite is Not a True Suite
Reviewed 22 july, 2019
We had a nice stay here with a good breakfast and hospitality. My only complaint was the layout of the Alaska Suite we stayed in. It has two rooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds and a bathroom in between. I found it odd that the entry way into that space only had curtains between it and the main living area / kitchen. If I were traveling with kids I would want to know that, while the two bedrooms have key locks, I would not want my young kids to have to lock themselves in the room at night. For the cost of one night, a door could be installed at the entryway to allow the two bedrooms to remain open to supervise the kids. That would make it a true suite.
