Overpriced
This hotel is extremely basic and overpriced. At £80 a night in low season, I would of expected a lot more. The most you got was two bottles of complimentary water. Even the coffee in the room was chargeable. Things were very tired and in need of an upgrade. The staff were very pleasant and worked very hard to try and keep the hotel clean and free of sand from the beach outside. The buffet breakfast was nice and the eggs and cakes tasted delicious. The bed in the room was very comfortable and the AC worked very well. But overall it was a forgettable stay.
Simple, Basic but everything we needed!
Clean room overlooking the Sea. Nice location. Very basic & simple. Very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a reasonably priced location not far from the piers.
From 10 to 0 - complete deception
After visiting this pousada in the last year and enjoying it, it was a complete difference this year. The staff is unfriendly. Asking for a new towel, they simply say No. The Manager of the Hotel is looking at her Facebook Page whilst talking to me, not even looking at me. The rooms need a renovation. Air-condition is not working sometimes and is in general much to loud. If you have one of the rooms in the back, you think that a truck is driving beside your window from all the noise of the air-condition of the other rooms. The breakfast is simple. They don't even try to make it nice. Cheese comes in Tupperware. The organization of the hotel is very bad. The manager does not know at the end of the month, if they have rooms for the next month, because they don't get the information from the owner, who lives in São Paulo. I have more and more the impression that tourism on the island is just for making fast money, not caring for the needs of people.
Too basic
I have to admit I should have booked a room before coming to Ilha Grande. Arriving there in the end if the afternoon, I fell accidently on this pousada, and not much time nor courage to compare the offering on the island. But it was a mistake ! Poor room equipment, noisy pension, low appeal, no view (at least rooms at the ground floor), banal breakfast. Yet I can cope with this kind of comfort, but surely not at 250 R$ the night. Maybe this explains why I felt we were the only guests. Better places to be easily found in Ilha Grande. English not spoken.
A gorgeous little Hotel on the beach
This intimate hotel is located in an idyllic spot on the beach a bit further along from the main hustle and bustle of the pier / restaurant area of Ilha Grande. The place is spotless and has a lovely little pool area (albeit it is lacking lying out beds) with a separate jacuzzi. The breakfast selection of breads, fruit and cheese & hams was excellent as well as offering a few types of cereals and freshly made scrambled eggs etc. We loved this place and our only regret was that we only had a couple of days on the island. I would highly recommend this Pousada for a restful stay.
