Fantastic infrastructure

Reviewed 31 december, 2021

The hotel has an impressive infrastructure including pools bars restaurants and rooms. The rooms are spacious but already deserve some renovation. The location is very reserved and has access to almost 2 private beaches with lots of nature nearby. I would not recommend the all inclusive service the quality of the food and drinking are border line. The staff is very friendly and they have hard work to keep everything cleaned and organized in the restaurants bars polls and the gardens. Again is huge property inserted in the Brazilian Serra. Also easy access to get the boats trip around the many different beaches ⛱. Beware full with the booked dinners you have a limited quantity for. We stay for 4 days and just got one voucher. In the end price counts more for the property and the unique location

Disappointed

Reviewed 4 november, 2020

Beautiful location, infrastructure and grounds, but let down by indifferent food, virtually no information and very limited entertainment. The beach location is spectacular and the pool and garden area is beautiful and well maintained. During our stay there was no bar open at night, with the exception of a very noisy music bar full of children. Our visit was all inclusive, but the food was virtually the same for each lunch and dinner and certainly not five star.

Awesome Stay!

Reviewed 27 january, 2020

It was an amazing stay! But first, this is a hotel that receives mostly Brazilians, so, don't expect some international things in there, ex. food, but I loved Brazilian food, so it was ok for my family and me. The pros: - The mixture of jungle and beach is amazing. YOu have the jungle in one side, and the beach and the sea on the other side. It's a bay area so the sea has no waves, it's just like a pool. - The food, i loved it. Also the restaurants, with great menus. - The staff is very nice and they are always cheerful with the kids. - If you have the chance to go on boat travel on the island near Angra and Ilha grande, please, DO IT! Snorkeling and the chance to swim in a pool in the middle of the sea. Coral reef, fish, blue waters. - It's in the middle of the jungle but we didn't found of faced any mosquitos or bugs, which was great. - The pools are big and the beach too, and you always will find a spot to sit and leave your things. - The hotel's pretty secure. But the beaches are public, so, just be careful, just like any other place in the world. But you have a policeman on the beach too. - A lot of activities to do all the time! The cons. - If you are looking for international cuisine, not the place. - The staff mostly speaks Portuguese, so, sometimes they are not comfortable with you speaking in another language, and some of them don't even know Spanish, so, communication can be an issue, but not so much. - The hotel is on an eco-prereservation, so when you are leaving the hotel, they are gonna charge you a fee per day, it's minimum, but it's not expressed in any site where you can book the hotel,(Despegar.com in my case). It's a minimum charge, but you have to py for it. They are very kind to explain that on the check-in process. - The check-in process tends to be kinda extensive. And if you don't speak Portuguese can be a problem if you need to request or complaint about something. - Restaurant reservation, it's only in person and from 3pm to 6pm, so, if the hotel it's crowded you can expect a couple of hours waiting in line. They don't have an app for that. And the reservations are in short time windows since the restaurants are small. - The hotel is quite old, so you can notice that in some places needs some maintenance. - The kids club it's awesome, but if your kid doesn't speak Portuguese, it's not gonna be easy. Overall, a place to visit! With kids mostly!

Don't go there.

Apart from the location in the heart of the rainforest with a private beach there are no other positives about the hotel. First of all, the rooms: they were smelly and dump and not cleaned properly. The net curtains were dirty but the worst were the pillows! They probably used to be white a long time ago. They smelled TERRIBLY of dump, it was disgusting to put my head on it. The bathroom was floor and the tiles on the walls were dirty, with some stains, never cleaned properly I guess. The toilet bowl smelled with URINE for the whole 5 days of our stay. I was trying to pour it with some shampoo but I could not get rid of the smell. The sleep comfort was poor as well. The night shows or music took place on the pool area so the noise was a problem in every room. The Internet was worse than poor. It was only available in the lobby and each time we wanted to use it we had to connect again and again and log into with giving some Brazilian phone numer to get a password! I had to ask the receptionist for the password several times a day! The sunbeds were made of plastic but the hotel did not provide the mattresses so lying on them was not a relax at all. After five days I felt all my bones. The food was a huge disappointment. It was the same on each of five days of our stay. Really small choice of meat, every day the same chicken or beef ( not tender at all). I have never seen such a poor choice of vegetables, as well. There were four different kinds of lettuce, and only two other vegetables, sometimes carrots or beetroots ot cucumbers or tomatoes. Finally, the hotel has got an word ECO in its name. That is really a joke if You notice how many plastic cups and forks and knifes and plates they use!

Not awful, not good either.

I came with my father, and all the pictures they show make you think you'll be touching paradise with your hands. First of all if you have no kids, and want to relax, don't go there. Full of children running around. I've been to other hotels and they have a family friendly area, and an adult friendly one; this one hasn't. Food is very local, but nothing worldly, so if you are not brazilian or like their food the options are very limited, as well as cheap (the ice cream is frozen water with sugar and dye). Same goes with entertainment, I wanted to have a chill time while having lunch but no. They put a typical orchestra, and not for some nice background music, no, I couldn't even chat with my dad without screaming. Then half the restaurant was dancing in front of them so if you wanted to go get something to the buffet better be prepared. The WiFi is terrible. It comes and goes as he pleases wherever he wants. Want to watch a movie at night? Or your series? Be prepared to interrupt it 50 times to get back online. There are not enough tables at the restaurant if half the hotel goes to have dinner at the same time. Nor does it have enough beach chairs or shades. Never happened to me that I had to be moving one chair from one point of the pool to another just to have some shade. Last but not least, so much for their Eco Resort, but I've never been given so many plastic cutlery and recipients as here.
