Great location for all places in Des Moines
My friends and I traveled to Iowa the weekend before the Iowa Caucus to see Presidential candidates. This hotel is perfectly located on I-35, so getting to any location in the greater Des Moines Area is easy. The hotel staff is welcoming and helpful, and our room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the continental breakfast each morning. Since two of us are celiacs, it was important to us that they had gluten-free options, and we were able to find both hot and cold options. We will be back!
Great stay!
The hotel was very clean. Bed was comfy! What was best was the staff. There was a young woman being trained in. Both she and the trainer was great! Anticipating our needs, offering a bottle of cold water and a snack for our room. There is also a team of teenagers stating here and to be honest the noise is minimal! Id surely stay here again.
Great Hotel!
My husband and I are happy we chose to stay here in Ankeny at the Holiday Inn Express! Very friendly staff and very welcoming! Our room is very clean and up to date! The included breakfast is fantastic! The food has been very good each morning, lots of choices as well... not to mention lots of healthy choices too! The seafood restaurant across the street is spectacular so you have to dine in while staying here. Our first experience with a holiday inn express and will now choose this hotel while traveling in the future! Thanks for a great stay!
Suite is not sweet!
We upgraded to suite so I could stay up later to read while my husband could sleep. There is no real division between the bed and the “suite” portion with couch! So there is no privacy, no light block, no reason to have paid the extra to upgrade to suite! Disappointing. Other than that, the room was fine.
Five plus One Alive
Took my five gkids ages 9,11,11,12,14 for an overnight - two girls and three boys. First visit to this hotel. It was “ideal” for us for many reasons: neat, clean, simple space; in spite of location near busy roads, very quiet; they happened to be the only ones in the pool for an hour and a half - a “perfect playground”; the workout facility also burned off much good “winter energy”; sound insulation seemed good (the pool room characteristically LOUD of course); the continental breakfast was most generous in variety with fresh foods and drinks (that alone saved about $75!). A real “gift”!
