HOT
Sunday Lunch - I asked that the chef plate my vegetables and give them a short blast in the microwaved ( I know not the way to go) and then plate my Roast Beef. What I got was a fabulous HOT delicious Sunday Lunch. Thank you Chef and also the young waitress who conveyed my wishes so wonderfully.
Christmas break
Very disappointing night away at The Bushmills Inn! For the price they are charging definitely not worth it. Dinner in the restaurant was terrible. Turkey was served like we’d never seen before swimming in gravy and cranberry sauce (which was disgusting) whether you wanted it or not! Roast potatoes were inedible, carrots not peeled, no mash or cocktail sausages served! Covid rules all very suspect with paper menus being handed out then taken back to hand to others? Asking for your details in full every time you sat down? Surely giving your room number would have been suffice! Staff leaning over you, all a bit uncomfortable 😣 A few of the staff were really friendly and competent however some of the others were ignorant and clueless. Will not be rushing back to the Bushmills Inn consider it to be extremely overrated. We understand these are very challenging times for the hospitality sector however all the more reason to encourage guests to return.
Felt safe and pampered
The food at dinner and breakfast was delicious, the service excellent, the bedroom large and clean - an expensive overnight but so worth it for a treat in these unusual times. Walks in sunshine at Torr Head, Dunseverick, Magilligan beach and Binevenagh Mountain just glorious.
Brilliant hotel with great food
We stayed here for one night and wished it was for longer. Our room was brilliant and the evening meal and breakfast included with our stay was fantastic- great service as well from all the staff. Would definitely visit again.
Enjoyable stay let down by poor restaurant experience
This is a very comfortable hotel to stay in, spacious comfortable rooms, nice ambiance and excellent friendly staff who go out of their way to provide courteous and attentive service. The restaurant however for dinner was a disappointing let down that spoilt a birthday celebration. An unimaginative and expensive menu provided main courses that were carelessly cooked and presented. Lamb looked uninspiring and was bland and not very warm. Vegetables were tasteless, undercooked to the point of being almost raw and dauphinoise potato was oily and an unusual flavour. My wife's salmon was ok but the accompaniments including a cold beetroot salad didn't work together and her view of the sides was the same. We persevered but informed the server when asked that we were not impressed with the food. After a while a manager came to speak to us and took the feedback on board. I felt a little sorry for him as ours was not the only table with issues, can't be easy having to deal with that. We weren't charged for one main course or the sides but really, a hotel of this calibre should be able to produce much better, so many restaurants take pride in the manner of cooking and presentation but sadly that appears lacking here. Another gripe was the worst Guinness I have had for many years, bitter and a fizz on the tongue which indicates a problem. I would certainly stay in the hotel again but would likely eat elsewhere. Such a shame as there is so much to like, especially the staff, but something is wrong in the kitchen based on our experience.
