I have now stayed here five times and have held two conferences over the past 6 months. I selected them as our preferred supplier to try and support the regions given the challenges that exist in the market. Today our check in service was appalling. Our Room was without working air conditioning and room temperature was around 26 degrees all night. Very uncomfortable. Our room cost, just about $1000 per night. Nobody seemed to care. I will be pulling my business from this resort and going elsewhere.

We stayed here for 7 days over Christmas 2021 in a 2 bedroom apartment. We had stayed the previous year at Christmas in a 1 bedroom apartment. Before we arrived we were disappointed as were told a month before our trip that the Christmas dinner options were full. We were paying $000's for a 2 bedroom and priority wasn't given to on-site guests to dine at Christmas. We hadn't received an email informing us about Christmas dining beforehand. Another couple staying mentioned this happened to them too. By that time there were no options to get into a restaurant anywhere else. After a few emails, a cancellation had appeared and a table was now available. During this 'traffic light' system we knew we were only allowed to stay at the resort if we showed our vaccine passes on arrival, it was a little annoying for the next week every time we entered a cafe, restaurant, gym, pool, yoga, spa etc. we had to keep showing our passes. Surely this could be noted at check-in and stored. The room was spacious, a little tired but fine, but was surprised there was no way to regulate the temperature, no air-con or fan. Luckily it wasn't too hot but in the warmer months it would be stifling, as mentioned in other reviews, you would have to open windows, but then flies come in as there aren'e any fly screens. The water pump was very noisy, every time someone turned a tap on it sounded like an engine, I had mentioned this the previous year. I called reception who said they would attend to it after we left ( not immediately as we still had 3 days left!). We loved the yoga, spa, pool and gym, other activities for the family who aren't playing golf. Golf- We played golf everyday and the golf pros and staff were very helpful and friendly. We were surprised at the lack of golf etiquette. We were behind one group who were playing loud music from their cart and drinking, one leaving a beer bottle on the tee, playing without any shoes on! The loud music was mentioned to a member of staff on the 'sandwich cart' who said they hadn't heard it so that was that. The cost to play here does not echo that behaviour. Looking out from our balcony, there was an old waratah with warning tape that had fallen down, weeds and an area where paving stones had been lifted and the grass looking dead and uneven. Just details which should be attended to. In general, not sure we would return, it was a pleasant stay but a little over-hyped. On check out we were over-charged twice, but this was rectified later.
Resort living at it's finest

Authentic and pristine. We loved our stay at Millbrook. We stayed during the Christmas period and felt like we were with our Friends and Family even though they were 1000's of km's away - Thanks to how well the staff treated us. We had also just gotten married and they even treated us to some complimentary Bubbly. We spent most of our time exploring the resort going for walks and playing golf. the views on the walks and gold course are just amazing. Highly recommend Millbrook to anyone keen on staying at an authentic resort with good facilities that don't make you feel as though you are staying at the Emporer's palace. We felt at home.

I stayed here for my birthday and it was absolutely beautiful. We had 833 which overlooked a small pond hidden behind the golf green. The room was super quiet, large, massive bed, amazing bath tub, and super comfy pillows! I’ve tried looking for those pillows online. We had dinner at Kobe and it was delicious. The blonde girl that checked us in and out was so lovely. I would absolutely stay here again
Very Disappointed with Millbrook

We have stayed at Millbrook a few times but never at this time of year. Normally we have a one bedroom but this time we had a Deluxe Studio. There is no Air-conditioning at Millbrook in rooms or restaurants so at 30c it was quite warm. We requested a fan and this was provided. The toilet was about the size of an airline toilet, the rest of the room was ok We had meals over our 3 night stay at Hole In One Café 3 nights and the service was appalling, and the food below average, it reminded me of Faulty Towers. One meal we had 6 different wait staff at our table during the time we were there and they still not get it right. We had breakfast two mornings at the Clubhouse and like the Hole in One they got us seated then seemed to ignore us. The food was very sub-standard I get better at some of the truck stops around NZ. The Millhouse Restaurant was only open one night of our stay so we never ended up in that one this time. Overall a real letdown of a holiday. As far as their 5 star reputation goes I would barely give it 3 stars.
