Not easy to find
Reviewed 12 june, 2017
Beautiful, bucolic setting, but finding it was not easy. There was no signage, and no one to greet us when we arrived. We weren't sure where to park or how to check in. The 'apartment' we had was spacious, with a lovely view of the gardens in the back. The bed was large - seemed like a California King - but it was not comfortable :( Next to no interaction with the owners, so we left wondering if they actually wanted our business or not. A shame, because it seems like a gem in the rough.

Not really a hotel, total lack of service, not even a sign

We arrived using our GPS. It is certainly not a Castle, it is more like a manor house. It is pretty, set in a garden, in a rural area outside or Torgau, so basically in the middle of nowhere. There was no sign at all, only doorbells with random names, and if we had not had our phone fully charged I am not exactly sure how we would have gone in as everything was closed and locked. We called, someone came out, showed us the room, asked us when we wanted breakfast, and basically left. I had to spend 10 minutes trying to find someone to ask about WIFI as I had forgotten to ask. I was told that the owners' son was the only one who knew how to Access it and that we should inquire later when we came back from our excursion. There was no one around when we returned, but they had left a note with codes and Passwords on it, however they did not indicate what it all meant. In fact, when my smart phone scanned there was nothing that came up that even slightly resembled what was written on the note. The icing on the cake was the next day upon checkout with the unfriendly son. We asked if we could leave our luggage there as we were going on another excursion. He looked a bit perturbed but said it would be ok. We arrived that evening to pick up the luggage. No one around. No one picking up the phone. No one answering the door when we rang. We had no choice but to kill the next two hours driving around in the area and coming back now and again to see if anyone had arrived, which no one had. Finally, two hours later the son pulled in, we told him we had been waiting two hours, no apology was offered, no sign of Feeling badly that we had had to wait so Long. They could have at least left a note on the door with their cell phone number to call and have someone come by and open up so we could get our luggage. But I suppose the owners purposefully do not give out their cell number as they do not wish to be bothered by their guests. If they are not there, it is all out of sight, out of mind. Most definitely a place to avoid at all costs. There were no guests there at all although it was a Weekend in the summer, high season, no surprise there...

Mal was anderes
