More about the hotel
A little disappointed
My hubby and I booked an apartment here for a couple of days to do work on our boat. It was very close to the marina so a perfect location. The appartement was very basically furnished but was well equipped apart from a couple of kitchen things like a chopping board, and sharp knife. The weather was beautiful for the time of year so it would have been nice to have some outside seats - I asked at reception and was just told to take the dining chairs outside! This was a surprise as the information said that balconies were furnished, I would have expected that the ground floor would have also had outside seating! Our first night was very peaceful as we were the only people in the building, however on the second night we had people upstairs, they came in at 1.30am and weren’t very noisy, but the walls/ ceilings were paper thin and our dog was convinced that there were people in our appartement, so a very disturbed night!
Small but perfectly formed
The property was small but very well set out, clean and comfortable. It had everything that you needed for a comfortable stay and the dishwasher was very welcome! The view of the harbour from our apartment was magnificent. The grounds were very well kept and the pool areas were excellent. We only spoke with one member of staff on reception and he was friendly and helpful. A short walk to the bars and shops as long as all you want is pastries or bread but your croissants will be cold by the time you get back. Bit of a trek to the supermarket to get your basics though so take the bike/car/allow plenty of time.
Great Outdoors
This holiday was all about the location and enjoying the outdoors. We don't do camping so this was a great location where we could enjoy the outdoors as a family but still have some home luxuries. Plenty of activities to do such as table tennis, volleyball, cycling, heated outdoor pool and water sports. The harbour is walking distance with plenty of options for dinner and desserts.
Wonderful holiday, everything you could need.
The room was clean, they upgraded us to be nearer to my parents who had booked both of the apartments. So we had a large apartment for 7-8 people for us and two dogs <3 It was a wonderful location with lots of great walks and places to visit nearby. We went to see castles, beaches, ports, the medieval city of Vannes, we ate in the Port three times and had a wonderful week. It was fantastic and I'd definitely recommend it as a lovely place to stay.
Just who is responsible for this holiday village?
We travelled with friends, having booked two apartments with Pierre Vacances, arrived and were unable to book in until 3pm when check-in time is 2pm. Our apartment, number 3114 was very tired and needed a high level clean - lots of spider webs, a deep clean - filthy extractor fans, or redecoration - wall by table stained. We found that the balcony door wouldn't lock. Also we had had to pay a 500 euro deposit and told to complete a damage form and return it to reception. We recorded the damaged end to the seating unit, the broken facia on the dishwasher and lack of mugs. However as there was no inventory we were unable to check whether the very varied collection of china, cutlery and kitchen equipment was correct. As numbers of like items varied from 3 to 8 we were concerned that we could be charged for apparently missing glasses, cups etc. A very poor start to our stay. When I took the list to reception and asked for mugs I was told that the apartment we were staying in belonged to Maeva and the reception personnel could do nothing. But they would send a technician to look at the lock. The technician arrived after 30 minutes and was able to repair the lock. By now it was gone 5pm and normally we would be out enjoying the sun, however our friends were having an even worse time, their apartment smelled overwhelmingly of smoke, and they had been told that there was nothing the reception could do, once again it was Maeva's responsibility. This despite the fire notice on the apartment door and various items of our mixed china collection being marked Pierre Vacances. There was no guidance on booking that some apartments were not the responsibility of Pierre Vacances. Nowadays the only reason for choosing a managed apartment complex is to have the confidence that if anything goes wrong there will be staff on site able to help. This trip proved that this isn't so and we won't be booking Pierre Vacances again.
