Mediocre for downtown Asheville

Reviewed 27 november, 2021

No microwave! What kind of hotel doesn’t have a microwave in the room? Check in was very hard to do since you first had to do a parking garage ticket check in. My husband and I probably won’t stay at an Aloft hotel in the future.

Short visit but nice rooftop atmosphere for happy hour with friends. Friendly staff including hostess and good bartender. Covid aware environment if you’re looking for a safe atmosphere to have some cocktails amongst family or friends.

Noise was Unbelievable

Reviewed 20 october, 2021

I have never heard so much noise from other rooms in a hotel. We stayed in a cabana room on the “quiet” side and could hear conversations and restrooms from the rooms on either side and above us. Our neighbors were not loud, you could just hear everything. We could also hear the hotel’s music from the pool inside our room with the door shut. My sister brought a dog who was constantly on edge throughout our stay due to the noise. The bathroom door was off track and difficult to close, and offered little privacy. There were a few items in the room in need of repair. The western view was fantastic and we enjoyed being able to see sunsets over the mountains from our private cabana. The fire pit was also great. This hotel is in an amazing location convenient to downtown Asheville’s restaurants and shops. Overall it was a good value and nice that we could bring the dog, though we did not receive dog bowls / a bed at checkin. I would probably stay somewhere else nearby next time due to the noise. It was very uncomfortable to be able to hear so much from inside other rooms.

Our go-to Asheville hotel

Reviewed 4 october, 2021

We live about 3 hours from Asheville and visit about 2-3 times a year and Aloft is our go-to hotel. We love staying here, the parking garage under the hotel makes it super easy to park your car and never worry about it again on your trip. The staff are always friendly and we love that they are pet-friendly. The rooftop patio is a great spot to get a drink from the bar and watch all the downtown hustle and bustle. Everywhere is a short walk from this spot, makes it the perfect place to stay. The pool can get a bit crowded in the summer months as it isn't that large and during peak season the price gets very high. We are Marriott members and the price is still too high on peak times in my opinion, but this is a tourist town so it is expected to be high. The noise level has never been bad in my opinion here even though you are right outside a busy bar area.

So very very loud

Reviewed 28 september, 2021

I’ve stayed at this Aloft before and really enjoyed it. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, everyone who works here is genuinely nice and helpful, and from the upper floors the mountain views are gorgeous. But on this visit, I felt like a cranky “get off my lawn” old lady. From the moment we pulled into the parking garage, the extremely bass heavy music was blasting. On the first floor, where we waited for the elevator to take us to the lobby on the 2nd floor, the music was so loud, I couldn’t hear the elevator bell. Once ensconced in our rooms, over the next 24 hours, we heard someone’s large dog barking loudly and repeatedly, the club music from the lounge ALL DAY LONG UNTIL 10PM, loud enough we had to turn up the TV—this is not a place for those who wish to nap—and, at 2:00am, a group of drunk young people who had a very loud conversation in the hall. I think were I young and hip and desperate to have my life accompanied by a club beat, I’d have loved this hotel. But I am 60 and like my peace and here, it is hard to come by.
