ASHEVILLE IN NOVEMBER

We went to Ashville to go to a concert at Harrah's event center and stayed at Hotel Indigo. We have stayed at this chain before and knew what to expect. The check in was easy. The room we had was on the 12th floor. It was large and well kept. They did advise us that there would be no in room service but to call if we needed anything. We just did a quick stop at the front desk for extras (coffee and creamer). The staff was pleasant and efficient. The room could have been a tiny bit cleaner but it wasnt the end of the world. The bed was comfy and the views delightful. The hotel is a little noisey because it is on an interstate. Bring ear plugs and you will sleep like a baby. The hotel is in walking distance to many shops and resturants. Also, stop at the pinball museum! We loved it. It is a pet friendly hotel as well. Asheville is welcoming to all and we would stay here again.

I booked through Priceline's deal maker and the axiom of "you get what you pay for" held true again. Now I know why this so-called 4 star hotel was value-priced. Let's start at the beginning: 1. They offer valet parking only (for $20/day) and the tiny valet area was full when I arrived so I had to circle the block looking for a place to leave my car so I could check in. Theres always a wait to use your car since you cant get it yourself. 2. There was only 1 person working check in and answering phones so the service person seemed overworked and was a bit abrupt. 3. The room was good though it overlooked the interstate. Nothing says luxury like listening to trucks roaring by while trying to sleep. 4. Sleep? Made difficult by the people above us stomping around. Why is the ceiling/floor so seemingly thin? 5. The hotel markets itself as pet friendly. But no one mentioned its $75 for the privilege until I was already paid and checked in. With so many choices available, especially during covid, I will never stay here again and I'll be sure to tell my friends who visit to never stay there.

I understand Covid has been rough on the hotel industry and that staffing is challenging right now but there's really no other way to describe this hotel other than saying that it is disappointing. Our mini fridge wasn't cleaned. The bathroom counter had hair on it. As did the toilet. The floor wasn't vacuumed. And make sure you don't lift up the rug - you're much better off being naive to the months worth of dust and dirt under it. Overall there was dust everywhere. The shower had black stains on the ceiling. I'm assuming that's mold? It appears to be a newer property but somehow also looks like it's been neglected and run down. It feels like you're staying at a $50 hotel on the side of a highway.

Good service, Very Clean

The staff was very good and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean. The bed, towels and shower were very nice. The hotel was easy walking distance from restaurants, etc. The only negative we had was the noise level. Not from other guests, we never heard anything from other rooms or people in the hall, but we did not realize that this hotel was next to the interstate. All night, we heard traffic noise and it was loud. Also, the AC unit cutting on and off was loud, however, all hotels that have the below the window all in one units have this problem, this one was especially loud. So if you don't mind the AC noise, make sure you get a room NOT on the interstate side of the hotel.
