Beautiful place near Mount Rainier

Reviewed 3 october, 2021

This is a family owned resort that includes few cute cabins, restaurant, bakery, outdoor sauna and cannibal hot tub. The hotel & restaurant is located in Ashford, right at the west entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. We stayed at cabin #1, which was very cute, with comfy bed and spacious bathroom. We booked the cannibal hot tub for 2 hours which was a great experience. Loved the pastries in the bakery! Friendly staff. Will come back!

A truly strange place to stay...but it works!

Reviewed 2 october, 2021

This hotel is just off the road leading to the west entrance to Mt. Rainier. I truly have never stayed in a place where the outside of the buildings are so vastly different than the inside. We stayed in room 10, which is up a very rickety set of wooden stairs in the back. The first time ascending them I was kicking myself for booking here. For, if the inside was anywhere near to the outside, we were in for rough nights. As you might have surmised by now, the differences couldn't have been greater. The inside of the room was large and spacious, with two large queen beds and a fairly modern bathroom. While the ceiling was relatively low, given that it was impacted by the slope of the roof, it didn't matter at all. Would I stay here again? Well, the staff was warm and friendly. The lobby also served as a small restaurant and scrumptious bakery. The Paradise Village is awash with contradictions. But, yes, knowing what I now know, I would stay here again.

Cute cabin in a nice location

Reviewed 26 september, 2021

We stayed just one night on our way into Rainier NP. Great location near the park. Really cute, updated cabin. Place was clean and bed was very comfy. Heated bathroom floors are a nice plus. The A/C and heat unit works well. Good amenities for a longer stay - fridge, microwave, table and chairs. Bakery was OUTSTANDING! Really wanted to eat dinner in the restaurant, but we were behind schedule and got there too late for dinner. Would definitely stay there again.

Bizarre but comfortable

Reviewed 24 august, 2021

This place is bizarre, but the location is great, and the rooms have been updated beautifully. It was near-impossible to check in (after 20 minutes of searching around and then calling what turned out to be an automated number, I ended up asking people cooking in the kitchen for help and one person came out to give me my key). Checkout was similarly impossible (we left the key in the room and left a message saying we’d left). Staffing is a challenge for everyone right now, but basic signage could solve this problem. There is random exercise equipment all over the place. Once we were actually in our room, we were surprised by its rustic chic update and very comfy beds.

Great stay close to Rainier NP

Reviewed 24 august, 2021

Very cute family-run location with nicely updated rooms. Room was very clean at check in and the bed is nice and firm with comfortable linens. Plenty of room to relax and has a pull out sofa for families. Bathroom was also newly remoded and has a nice night light feature and heated floors. Room had an ac unit and heat as well as a little fireplace but it wasn't cold enough to use it this time of year. Wi-Fi is a bit slower than city speeds but worked the whole stay. Grounds are very pretty with lots of lavender and other flowers blooming. About 10 minutes to the Mt Rainier Park gates and a few restaurants and shops nearby. Restaurant was quaint but served excellent food - try the borsch and pierogis! We would definitely stay again. Only minor issue was the noisy couple next door for one night, but certainly not the hotel's doing. Walls are a bit thin but we always travel with a white noise device so not a big problem.
