Very rural and peaceful location, off the beaten track. Awesome place to sit with a book and take in the quite surroundings. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean. Pros - Staff, peaceful, quite and beautiful Cons - Walls paper thin, limited activities close by.
Absolute tranquility in a picturesque environment
If your idea of a great holiday is partying all evening and dancing until dawn, then this entire region is probably not for you... If you like to be in the countryside but within reach of civilisation, then this might be ideal! Obaya is a small hamlet 3km above Villaviciosa, approximately 600m from the very end of the road itself. The rental properties date from 2006 and are in excellent decorative and functional order. They look out over a quiet valley untroubled by motorway or indeed main road of any description, railway line or flight path. The only sounds at night are a tinkling stream in the bottom of the valley, and an occasional owl. Such spendid isolation doesn't come at the price of a difficult journey however - Villaviciosa is less than 10 minutes away and has all the amenities of a medium sized town (swimming pool, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, hairdressers, etc.) and the motorway is a further five minutes north of the town. From Obaya, the major town of Gijon is 30-45 minutes away, dependent on traffic conditions; within an hour you can be in the the Picos de Europa and in half that time you can be on any one of several quiet beaches, some suitable for surfing. The property we stayed in was scrupulously clean and well maintained; with tiled floors throughout as you would expect, and provided with a TV, oven / hob / grill, microwave, coffee maker and washing machine. A small individual gaetd terrace is immediately outside the front door, and there is plenty of parking for cars. The owners are very friendly and were keen to help, though they speak only a little English. The region of Asturias is the cider producing capital of Spain, with a sideline in dairy. It's very green, with rolling hills, bounded on the north by the Atlantic coast, with cliffs and sandy beaches, and to the south by the Picos de Europa, a spectacular limestone range rising to 1500m from the coastal plain. It's a countryside great for walking, cycling, hiking and outdoor pursuits. What tourism there is seems to be oriented towards the Spanish - don't expect fluent English in any but the most upmarket establishments.

El sitio es muy bonito en medio del monte, el apartamento perfecto y estas como en casa no falta de nada, limpieza, decoración y comodidad le doy un 10, la anfitriona super atenta y agradable de trato muy familiar, por la noche se oyen loa cencerros de las vacas en el monte. Te queda todo cerca para visiteo. Y para desconectar y relajarse es perfecto. Nosotros repetimos seguro sin duda. Lo recomiendo 100%.
Tranquilidad, encanto y amabilidad
Hemos pasado unos días estupendos antes de carnaval. Está un poco apartado, pero eso le da encanto. La dueña nos dió todo tipo de facilidades, lo que agradecemos de nuevo. La relación calidad-precio es de 11. Mejor aún de lo esperado. En cuanto sale el sol, da gusto comer o merendar en la terraza. El apartamento tiene detalles que te esperas en alojamientos de mucho más precio, como por ejemplo toallas y sábanas bordadas y de buena calidad. La verdad es que acabamos encantados. Si vas con niños tienes a ti de piedra el MUJA, el acuario de Gijón, y muchas actividades de naturaleza. Recomiendo visita a "Los Caserinos" si vas con niños. Podrán estar y tocar caballos, burros, cabras cerdos... Y degustar productos caseros. El único mini-pero, es que la información de acceso a los apartamentos no está actualizado y han hecho una nueva variante de acceso, si que mejor, hacer caso a Google Maps.

la ubicacion esta un poco distante de la poblacion de villaviciosa, en una ladera, pero su lo que buscas es tranquilidad y entorno rural, el paraje es el mas adecuado. El apartamento esta bien, tiene todos los utiles que pueda necesitar, es comodo y esta muy limpio. La dueña muy agradable.
