We enjoyed our stay. The acropolis view was great. Hotel staff if very friendly. Comfy bed. I would note the shower doesn’t have a door which made it a bit cold and messy. The proximity to activities in Athens was perfect. We would stay here again.

WORST EXPERIENCE NOT 5 STAR

At the hotel currently. Checked in this afternoon to the “executive room with acropolis view” . The view is of a residential building opposite and then you step onto the balcony where you have a partial view of the acropolis Onto the balcony, whilst I rest my arm I realize it look wobbly and one could easily fall off if not careful. Immediately strolled outside to an Uphill walk to Plaka. On my return at 1730 to the hotel I went upstairs to the rooftop restaurant to check the view for dinner . However informed by the staff there everything is booked only tables inside are available with no view. When asked again he seemed upset and said “these tables are booked weeks in advance” Again no information regarding a fully booked restaurant mentioned during check in. What the point of booking this hotel , i began to think. No alternative dinning options were mentioned by the staff. Stepped out for dinner on my return at 10pm tried sleeping only to be awaken by a room check in next door with loud banging noises , so clearly the rooms aren’t soundproof. Tried sleeping at 1:30am in the morning the room a/c fan control goes off. And that’s where the drama begins. The front desk informs me if the room gets cooler than the fan will go off. Which 5 star hotel has an a/c controlled centrally than the room occupant itself. After much debate someone was sent up to my room for it to be fixed. Its 2:30 am I’m wide awake, as theA/C ruined my sleep cycle and the noises from the adjacent room and the street enter the room like alarms This is definitely not a 5 star hotel ! Cannot wait to get out. Waste of money and time. A birthday trip completely ruined.

The staff was lovely, especially Michael at the front door always quick to help with luggage, and hail a cab. The front t desk was also very helpful. The rooms, even at the executive level, were tiny. the closest door opening half-way because it hit the door handle to the room. There is only one shower door, the rest is open- which makes for a cold shower, even when he water is hot. The view of the acropolis is from the balcony, moving 180 degrees and leaning.. The lighting is terrible, dark and dingy.The cafeteria for breakfast would remind anyone of a public school cafeteria It just wan't pleasant It is the kind of hotel where the busloads of guests from tours come in. There are hundreds of people checking in and out, congregating in the lobby. The restaurant on the roof was lovely and the food very good. The TV has one channel in English,, the BBC, which repeats. There is a plaque on the outside of the building that says it is Five-stars- I have no idea how, when the websites ays 4 stars. The paper work when you check in says checkout at 12:00, but the staff tells you it is 11:00. However, a late checkout was easy. We would never recommend this hotel.

Upgraded room was superb. But on 5th floor, it is directly under roof top bar and restaurant. Very noisy until well past 11pm. I was never offered a change of room or discount. Several phone requests were ignored. Otherwise, hotel is fairly good with nice staff.

We recently stayed at the Divani Palace Acropolis to celebrate our recent wedding and each other’s birthdays with friends from Canada. The hotel has superb location allowing you access to all the main attractions or close enough to the tram and metro to visit the beach for the day! We were offered an upgrade to an Executive room which was incredibly generous of them. However, we chose the older style Superior Room with Acropolis view so we could have a bath and our view was spectacular! Although in parts the hotel was dated, what really stood out was the service which was exceptional. Every member, from the reception staff, the breakfast team, the bartender to the gentlemen that greet you at the door always had a cheerful disposition and nothing was an issue. But even more, they went out of their way to ensure you were happy and your stay a pleasant one. Dinner at the rooftop restaurant was fabulous with an amazing view. And again the service did not disappoint. Even offering a blanket when the evening cooled. Altogether a very lovely stay.
