Staff is exceptional and friendly. The hotel manager was helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We loved the lobby and was able to catch the end of a game (there were several people watching which was great). The hotel and room were clean. Will stay at the Hampton Inn the next time we go to Athens.

I stayed here for a business conference and while the staff was very helpful my concerns started as soon as I got into my room. The issues ranged from an unattended dog whining constantly in a room across the hall; to black mildew around the rim of the tub, to a shower valve with only two temperature extremes of cold to scalding. Finally, to the high noise level on the street side of the building, it woke me more than once each night. It's clear this is an older property in need of renovation, the windows are single pane and stopped almost no outside noise. My advice would be stay at another Hilton property if you can, if not stay in a room on the west-side of the building, at least on that side the noise is limited to the demolition of the building next door.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Athens, GA. keep looking. This hotel should not be in the Hilton family. Most of the staff were rude and the room was filthy. The floors were nasty and worn with torn carpet. There is a lot of noise in the hotel. The doors slam very loud and will keep you awake all night. Avoid this place and you will bre happier for it!
Poor customer service for diamond members

We were planning to stay at the Hampton inn for a long weekend to check out the University of Georgia for collage, and hangout for the Tennessee-UGA game. Tried to cancel reservations (week’s notice) since a family member has been diagnosed with a terminal illness but the general manager refuses to refund our points. Never had such bad customer service by a Hilton hotel before. The general manager refused to listen to my husband’s explanation.
Never again! Roach infested second floor.

My brief stay was terrible. I departed the hotel after the first night of a three-day reservation. I had a serious roach problem and couldn't sleep at all. There were marks on the wall where roaches had been smashed earlier and remained. I informed the front desk why I was checking out early, and showed multiple pictures I had taken, and they offered to have the room cleaned. I checked out. This problem seemed to affect the second floor. Others there on business on the same floor checked out early as well,-roaches.
