We stayed in Achileas Hotel for 3 days in mid November. It has a very good location, located a 10'-15' walk from all the major attractions (Acropolis, Agora, Benaki Museum, Syntagma Square, etc). If you don't want to wak, you can take the subway, just a 5' walk from the hotel (Syntagma Station). We walked late at night, we always felt very safe around the hotel's area. The room was clean and quiet, with comfortable beds. Not a very nice room, but for touristic purposes, a great room. The Wi-fi reception in the room was good. The bathroom was recently renovated, very nice, with good hot water. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable, with bread, fruits, ham, cheese, cereal. Everything you need to get good breakfast to get you going for a couple of hours. For us, the best part of the hotel was the service. Always attentive, courteous, ready to help. We had our luggage lost, arrived to the hotel when we left for the Peloponnese. The staff called us right away and we were able to redirect the bags immediately. Big thanks to the wonderful staff!! Next time in Athens, we'll be back.

This hotel is so central to everything. Clean, organized, quiet street and the breakfast was always on point. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom was a bit small (shower) but besides from that, this hotel is just perfect!
Weekend in Athens

Stayed in July 22. Great little hotel situated in an area not too far from Syntagma Square and surrounded by some cool bars and restaurants. It’s about a 15-20 min walk to the Acropolis and the other touristy parts of the city. We had a room on the 1st floor that was clean and comfortable and a decent size. Nice, strong shower. It even had a little patio area with a table and chairs. As it was internal facing there was no view, but then that meant the room was also quiet. Breakfast was included in the rate. It is served on a mezzanine level and is a basic continental offering. Nothing impressive, but good enough. Guy who checked us in was very knowledgeable about the city and showed us the best places to visit and eat/drink on a map, which was very helpful. Overall we were pleased with the hotel and would definitely consider staying here again when returning to Athens.
A favorite in Athens

We have been coming to Athens for many years. The Achilleas Hotel is our favorite place to stay. The location is great--you are close to everything but you will not be crushed by tourists and souvenir shops. When you walk out the door you are in a cool area of cafes, authentic restaurants, and long-standing shops and businesses, just around the corner from Syntagma square. The hotel has been very recently renovated--the rooms are clean and quiet, the beds are comfortable, and the AC works well! Compared to hotels of similar type, the room rate is very reasonable, especially for families. Some of the rooms have balconies over Lekka Street. We especially appreciate the staff, who are warm and open, and seem to want every guest to love their time in Athens.
