A pleasant surprise

Having in mind this is a 2-star hotel that I booked just for a 1-night layover in Athens, I really didn't expect anything special, so everything I actually found, surprised me nicely. 1. A clean, spacious and well maintained room. Even kind of stylish, as photos show. OK, single beds, but clean and comfortable enough. 2. A very friendly service 3. A decent breakfast included in the price 4. Perfect WiFi - better than my probably 10 hotels of quite higher category around the world. 5. Convenient location - less than 10 minute walk from Omonia square and from there - by metro, minutes away from the city centre and many of the top sights in Athens.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in room 302. It's on an avenue in a central poor area in Athens but not really dangerous, 5' walking from the closer metro station. Quiet area, no bars or night clubs around, only mini-market, coffee and fast food stores. I was alone, I had a small room with a balcony, exactly what I needed. The room was clean, I only had a small prob, whenever I was leaving something edible uncovered, ants were gathering on it. I'm not sure if it can be fixed some way, I finally didn't pay much attention on it, I just put my food in the fridge afterwards and the ants disappeared, not even one in the whole room. The room was equipped with towels, shampoo, tv, a/c and all 1st needs. Cosy sleep, Media Strom mattress! The maid knocked my door on my 2nd day to ask me if I am alright or I need anything, a smiley kind woman. The receptionists could be kinda more energetic, like saying welcome, at your service, happy new year, (it was 1st days of the year), I can't call them rude anyway, they were helpful enough and they made no problem to me for staying a few more hours in my room during my check-in and check-out hours, I appreciate it. The one working night shift, kinda older age, just grumpy. I passed a heartbeat away from him at a quiet hour a.m., … not a smile, not a word, not even a glance, as if I was a passenger in the street, totally unprofessional. I'm not arrogant, I don't demand red carpets, I just prefer a humanly kind behaviour wherever I go as a guest or customer. I'd pleasantly stay in this hotel again n' i'll keep it in mind for my next visit in Athens.

Really enjoyed our stay thanks Evangelous who couldnt do enough to assist us. We checked out early and he allowed us to remain in the lobby and use the facilities, he couldn't do enough to help and was very friendly. Breakfast was also decent value but the area was a little dodgey. I felt safe but those less street wise may not like the location much...

Odd bathroom but otherwise fine

Tidy, quiet with a nice rooftop view - definitely go up and take a look! Bathroom v small and also the lift is slow and tiny. Breakfast is fine. Includes lurpak butter mmmmmm. Neighbourhood feels unsafe in the evenings so ne careful and stay in well lit areas.

Not what’s advertised

Hotel is advertised as wheelchair accessible. I also emailed to say I had a chair. Arrived to find high step to even get in and then a tiny lift that can’t take a wheelchair. In a very dirty dodgy area. Room was tiny, wouldn’t have been able to use a chair in it anyway. Advertised as balcony with garden view, there’s no garden!! View of main noisy road. Shower unusable. No advertised bathrobes. Breakfast basic, bread, cake, one meat, hard boiled eggs, one cheese or cereal. Watered down juice. Good bits. Towels changed daily and sheets couple times a week.
