If you are prepared to phone this Auberge like we did, they might be willing to let you have lunch without booking a room. Usually you have to stay overnight.
The room we had lunch in was like being plunged back into the 17th century, it was charming as were the plates we ate off. The meal was a set menu and well worth the €70,50 for two, including wine. The charming lady who served us was very hospitable and it was like eating in a private dining room, albeit with a few other guests.
We hope for a return visit as we were on our way to Calais and there is the next door Abbey to visit for about €8.00 which was recommended by our hostess.
Quiet hotel, masses of character

This was our second visit. The hotel is a little way from the motorway but well worth the deviation. The rooms in this 16th (?) century building are huge with four-poster beds and whirlpool baths. Lovely couple run the place, breakfast is included in the room price, and evening table d'hote menu generous and interesting.
Amazing Stay in this Medieval Auberge

Stayed at the Abbatiale for one night including dinner. We were warmly welcomed by the owners, despite arriving a day early! Wonderful original medieval decor, including a fantastic four poster bed and large log fires. Dinner was delicious with local produce, beautifully presented and cooked by Madame. Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed in this romantic and charming hotel just for one night on our way back to Holland. After two weeks stay in the hectic larger cities of the Cotes d’Azur, and having driven some 900 kilometers, my wife and I wanted to stay in a quiet place just to relax and unwind. This hotel is situated in an old abbey in a small village, and is equipped with four rooms. We were offered a warm welcome by our hosts, who directed us to a very nice and spacious room in ancient style. Dinner was cooked by our hostess, and was first class: fresh regional ingredients and wines, the food was cooked with care and the whole meal was charmingly served by our host. What a treat! We had a great night’s sleep in a comfortable bed, and had a good breakfast to start the day. Completely refreshed and with some very pleasant memories, we left on our way back home. We can thoroughly recommend this abbey both as a hotel and as a great place to eat.
Amazing find for overnight stop

Wonderful historic hotel, in the middle of nowhere but handy for a peaceful stop over if you are travelling from the UK to the south of France, located not far from the A31 north of Dijon. Very accommodating and friendly owners, who speak English. In particular the food is brilliant. Highly recommended as it dates from the Middle Ages, and is completely unique in my experience. Very reasonable prices for the quality that you will get.
