Just a collage dorm
Just came from there and this is just a collage dorm, the 3 person room we got had a bad when you came in and then a bed upstairs. The bad was comfy, the lady in the reception was really nice and helpful with everything. The breakfast was ok. We stayed there for 2 nights and that was really enough, i thought Hotel Edda was a nicer hotel chain but i guess i was wrong. There is not a possibility to eat in at the hotel, they only serve breakfast. We won´t be staying there again at least.
Nice hotel
Spent a night here on out trip and enjoyed it . The hotel is relatively modern and the rooms are good. Enjoyed the breakfast, which was your typical continental type with some hot dishes. Hotel has free WIFI. Would definitely go back!
Nice experience
Stayed one night as part of a Danish group tour around Iceland. Nice place in a peaceful beautiful surroundings, situated in the middle of nowwhere! Our third experience of a Edda and again a nice experience. This one is a boarding school for most of the year, I think. Had a nice and clean two beeds room with privat bathroom. Room 209 with a view towards the lake. A spacious one with television and tee/coffe facilities. The bathroom were nice and spacious, a shower and one keeping the water inside! Anyway the water pressure were good and really HOT water. The floor drain smelled! Our beds were comfortable and with nice duvets. The free wifi were good. Lots of power outlets for charging different devises. We missed some coat hooks. We had a fixed dinner. Well prepared and tasty. Wild mushrooms soup and beef tenderloin. The breakfast were rather good, served as a buffet and displayed in a nicely way. It took place in a spacious light room with a beautiful view. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Worst Hotel of our Ring Road Trip
Stayed here in July 2018 with the family. Going into the trip, this was the hotel I was a bit concerned about, but other options were too expensive, so we booked this....and it was a mistake. The hotel looks like it belongs in 1980’s Soviet Union. The outside is actually nicer than the inside. The insides are grey and drab with low ceilings. The rooms are small and poorly designed. Their are book shelves located at head height next to the bed and I managed to give myself a good bash on the head getting up in the morning, which bled but thankfully didn’t require more than basic medical supervision from our First Aid kit...this despite being aware that there could be danger from the shelves...they are just in a blind spot. The family room also has an oddly located spiral staircase which takes up a good chunk of space and make sure it hard to even unpack small bags. The bathroom was too tiny with no shelf space and the shower was old and grey as well...not pleasant. The positive was that the radiator worked well on a cold day. Blinds let in a lot of light like every other place...bring a eye mask in summer, if you need darkness to sleep. Receptionist wasn’t helpful in finding us a dinner restaurant outside the hotel and unhappily booked us a table elesewhere when we persisted after checking out options on the internet. Breakfast spread in the morning was on the larger side but quite the same sort of cold cuts, cereals, breads as other hotels we stayed at during the trip. The parking lot was a little further than most other hotels and packing out the bags to the car wasn’t a pain as well. Overall, a disappointment in a country where hotel standards are quite low for what the cost is. I would definitely not stay here again.
iceland trip
The people at the reception desk were amazing - we had a problem that they were not responsible for and they went way beyond what was necessary to resolve the difficulty. Rooms were adequate. Very nice walk down to a lake outside of the hotel
