Our room was opposite a club where the music was super loud until 3am. The shower room was so old and rusty, the sink chipped and cracked with mouldy and broken tiles. We asked for a room change as soon as we inspected it. When they showed us a different room, it was the same story - filthy and mouldy shower room!
a little gem of a spot

this is my fifth time back to the Surtel Hotel in Kusadasi, up a little side street, but your balcony has a fab view of the port, right opposite where the cruise ships arrive in port, if you get a chance you should watch one arrive or leave, the way the little tug boats manoeuvre the big ships it amazing. However the hotel itself it is situated right in the centre of town, turn right out the door to the waterfront and turn left and you are right in the heart of the shops, restaurants and bars. the hotel decor is a little dated, but spotlessly clean but apparently is closing for a full refurbishment this winter, looking forward to seeing what they do, I really hope they improve the WIFI which is pretty non existent outside of the lobby area (although it can be quite restful to not have your phone bleeping all the time !!) And if the beds were comfier that would be a plus I really hope they are open next May in time for me to stay again!! The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Isa at breakfast and Kasim in reception, he just cant be helpful enough, lovely guy
Central to everything

I loved: the town centre location of this hotel The comfy beds The view from the balcony The helpful staff, especially Kazim on reception and the amazing cleaning ladies The rooftop pool The view from the restaurant I didn't love: The repetitive food on offer (even though I love Turkish food) The smell from the drains The noise at night
