Cheap but that's all.
Awful location - half an hour walk to anywhere to eat.. Check-in tricky- a receptionist would have helped but they are only on duty at breakfast time and early evening. Bathroom easily converted to swimming pool after showering without cubicle or screen. Mediocre breakfast.
Poor
24hr check in machine did not work so it took us about 20 minutes to actually contact someone and get in to the hotel and our bedroom Heating had been left on - switched it off as too warm, went out, came back and room was still too warm and there were no windows to open only patio doors. As the bedroom was on the ground floor we had to sleep with patio doors open all night but this was not ideal as anyone could have walked in Next morning there was a huge bug in the shower! Towels were worn and very small Bedroom decor was out dated. The actual length of the bed was very small too - my feet hung over the end all night and I am only 5 ft 5 inches! Overall - location fine but think it was overpriced for what it was
Not a bad place to stay!
I took a group to stay at the motel. The rooms are a good size and well appointed. The bathroom is a good size, my room having a bath and shower (I believe they are all the same). You may need to alter the temperature upon arrival but it kicks in at speed. Breakfast let them down in terms of service. What was provided was fine but it kept running out so I was constantly asking for resupply for my group. It came quickly but it was a shame that the staff on duty did not bother to look if anything else was running down so I was up and down a bit too often. It was not a major 'block' to revisiting. Sadly no bar for a get together but the rooms are big and in the good weather you can spill out onto the central garden and patio. They only supply one plate, knife, fork etc for a 2 person room that is a bit odd. Only plastic cups that was a bit of a shame.
Flower that is floundering.
Pack for winter. And i'm speaking in April with May only a day away(Tomorrow, tomorrow,I love ya tomorrow...you're only a day AWAY). Rooms are big(Great) but comes with only a small heater. So while it gets cosy enough with heater, it takes a while to get warmth in the room. Its a hotel that to me, seems to be struggling somewhat. Very basic, which i have no problem with. But its understaffed. I think there is one lassie that cleans the rooms, and there is more than a few rooms to get round, so they don't ever seem brilliantly clean. Breakfast always feels like its been sitting out several days with yoghurts a few days out of date and croissant that feel a little hard. Again,is this due to not having staff 24/7?Arriving it was phone call to get a guy to open up reception. The furniture is something thats neither here nor there to me in life, only here it seems a waste to have such big rooms that just feel dated, going for a Royal feel doesn't make it so. There is damp and so the cleaner is insistent in opening windows when you're out then begins the winter problem again. I do think this is due to hotel having damp problems rather than smelly rooms or dare i say it,guests. It has a fridge, and I would get along to a shop and fill it,there is nowhere within decent walking distance to get food or drink. Its grand for a nights stop over and leave. Beds are fine, rooms big. Just lacks character and warmth, both in vibe and temperature. The owner knocked on my colleagues door to get her to pay for a night. Bear in mind we weren't leaving for another two days and could've paid at breakfast. She was told the staff don't have good English and he wanted it dealt with now. She was in her pyjamas. Just reeks of bad customer service. Not a care to the person paying for the goods and room. We have no French so thats on us, but to make a person pay with time to spare and leave the comfort of her night off. Pretty shabby. The wifi has 5 different routes to it and all are painfully slow. So no way of calling for help in the event of a big freeze ;0) I'm reminded of Captain Oats "I'm going out...I may be sometime"
Good Stopover Hotel
Easy to locate this is in a motel style just off the A84 on an industrial estate - but don't be put off by this. I stayed on a Friday night and it was almost deserted (happy with that!). Secure site with keypad-operated gate for access after about 8pm. No bar or restaurant on site (nearest food is either McDonalds or QuickFrance 5-10 minutes' walk away, or Bailleul town centre 15-20 minutes) Continental breakfast on site though. Staffing is pretty minimal - I highly recommend you have a mobile phone with you so you can call to book in - and make sure you know how to call a French phone number too!
