Great for a stop over
Moving back south from Townsville and after a long day we just needed to rest our heads. Check in was quick, the man was friendly and welcoming. The cabin was cute and perfect! Everything we needed was handy. Kettle, hot shower with fluffy towels and air con. Bed was comfortable and the area quiet (my kid being the exception). There were mozzies and fly ants in the cabin, but when opening and closing the door and the lights are on, bound to happen. Otherwise no complaints from us. Thank you for having us and making us feel welcome
Not what it seems
Despite a friendly welcome at reception and being shown where to park for an unpowered site this site is not good. Because we are on an unpowered site apparently we are not entitled to water, this is only available on the powered sites. Water is a basic necessity and is usually included even for non powered sites. Then we went to check the amenities and the gents had holes in the floor and required the showers updating we will not be showering there in the morning. Certainly NOT COVID friendly, not sure how they are complying with the regulations. We will not be recommending this site to any of our grey nomad and other banning friends.
Nice park but a bit noisy
This is a great park with excellent amenities and is located on the banks of the river. The only downside is that it is also located close to the roadbridge of the Bruce Highway which results in a lot of traffic noise. If not for the noise, we would give it a 4 star rating.
Stay away
Couldn't wait to leave this place. There were French backpackers sleeping in the laundry. The camp ground is between the loud main highway, a rancid stinking slaughterhouse and a sewerage drain. Dog turds everywhere and moronic people who all seem to be alcoholics. The wifi is weak. If you stay here good luck.
Do not stay here!
Upon checking into somewhere you are expected to feel welcomed as at the end of the day you are paying them money. Check in here was absolutely awful and we seriously considered walking away and finding somewhere else. We only stayed because a thunder storm was due very soon. We parked up as you do and proceeded to go to the office. We were not informed of the office closing early that day upon booking. We rang the number to be greeted by a truly awful attitude from a man on the other end. He proceded to make excuses, pass the blame and speak to me like a piece of dirt making out I was thick and that I had no common sense...'put the money in the envelope and then in the box, can you actually do that'. Absolutely awful awful service and treatment. Would never return.
