Tranquility

Booked and paid in full 9 months ago to stay for 3 nights. Confirmed the booking 3 days ago, contacted the owner to ask where to collect the keys, only to be told they had rebooked the accommodation to someone else. Disgusting attitude, extremely rude and unapologetic about leaving a mother and 4 children with nowhere to stay. Carried on with a bizarre rant about deciding to sell the property due to the recent COVID restrictions, and that she wouldn’t discuss the booking due to ‘medical advise and it’s no good for her’. Then I was told it didn’t matter how polite I was, it didn’t change the fact they now could not accommodate us for the next 3 days even though I had booked and paid to stay before being hung up on!!!! Highly recommend you do NOT book here.

Tranquility Cottage was a great place to stay. Location to Kryal Castle was about 15 mins, so convenient. The beds were very comfortable and the massage chair and heater were relaxing on a chilly winter night. The smell of fresh bread was a delicious greeting and the items left for breakfast are plentiful. The little aviary outside was a treat. The hydro massage spa next door was amazing and a good deal. Thank you Jennifer for your immaculate venue and your wonderful hospitality.

Jennifer was very friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient and directly opposite a beautiful park for walking. The kitchen was well-appointed and the furnishings were comfortable. The bathroom was good.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed here for the weekend during the winter school holidays. We absolutely loved our stay. We stayed in Tranquility (there are different houses), a 2 bedroom house that was huge. The hosts had bread cooking in the bread maker for us, breakfast was provided (enough for the 2 days), milk, juice and heaps of fruit. The decor is like stepping back in time - we loved it. The beds all had electric blankets and were super comfy. In the lounge is a massage chair - we had to fight who got to go in it!! The location is about 5 min drive from town. There was a gas heater and aircon in the bedroom - enough to keep the whole house warm. Kitchen has everything you need (cutlery, plates, cookware etc). We would definitely stay here again if coming to Ballarat.

Its like stepping back in time. There were furnishings so cool we took photos of them. A bench top dishwasher that was so original and cool it's an antique, a freestanding telephone and stunning little China plates and quality drapes. Its incredibly comfortable and luxurious. Allot of time and effort has gone into making this place as comfortable and 'old school homely' as possible. It was freezing cold in December and we were super comfortable with a gas fire, spa and sauna.. even the massage chair got a workout. Both my partner and I are seasoned travellers and normally go for a modern suite however this certainly embraced the area and climate. Would love to come back. Super relaxed and fresh. Highly recommended
