Great B&B in Rosslare and perfect for the ferry

We spent a night here before catching an early ferry as it was a 3min drive to the port and also had some dog friendly rooms so we could stay with our pup. The room was lovely and comfortable with tea and coffee making to hand. You fill in your breakfast choices on arrival (from a wide range), and also the time you would like it- breakfast starts at 6:30 if required which was perfect for us due to having an early ferry. Kathrina is a great host and has it all down to a tee. We would definitely stay again There’s even a pub (Cushen’s) opposite where you can stop for a quick drink or two (we did!), or dinner on some nights of the week
Excellent attention to detail.

We booked simply because the BnB was 'pet friendly' a rarity, to say the least. However, this was so much more. Such a warm welcome not only for us but the dogs too. The room was immaculate, warm and inviting (even had a lil chocolate treat). The staff took great care to see we had everything (including a wee wine) that we needed. 100% will come back, with our lil fur babies. Thank you so much Coral Gables.
Such a lovely place

Stayed overnight in order to get early ferry. Ideally located with the port only 5 minutes away. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to accomodate anything you need. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else now.
Looking forward to returning next year

Firstly, I have to say that Kathrina, the owner of Coral Gables, is a pure saint. I’ve had to re-book my stay at her guesthouse several times as my return journey from Germany saw ferries cancelled and routes re-scheduled a number of times. Whilst I was flapping, Kathrina remained patient, flexible and empathetic throughout, which was ever so helpful. Thank you! My three night stay at Coral Gables after a hectic dash home to Ireland was exactly what the proverbial doctor would have ordered, had he been consulted. My dog and I arrived on the night ferry into Rosslare, drove five minutes up the road and arrived at beautifully lit-up Coral Gables. As it was well before 6am when we parked up, Kathrina had sent me a link to the JustIN smartphone app which basically turned my smartphone into a key that opened the secure vehicle barrier, the front door and my room door for the duration of my stay. Ingenious. Don’t worry though if tech is not your thing: Had we arrived at normal check-in times, we would have received an electronic key card. So, we were able to quietly let ourselves into the guesthouse and collapse into a very comfortable bed. I must admit, it was only later that morning that I realised and appreciated, that recommended Covid-19 measures were firmly in place at Coral Gables: A screen at the reception desk; hand sanitiser and signs requesting that you use it frequently; that face masks be worn in all common areas; and distance between tables was maintained in the bright and beautifully decorated breakfast room. Room doors were sealed post check-out cleaning, given added assurance that all is well. Kathrina had allocated us room no. 8 on the first floor which has a small balcony with table and chairs, and countryside views. I was delighted with this nicely decorated Family Room (a double en-suite with an adjoining single bedroom in a cosy under eaves alcove). My dog had almost more luggage than I, and the additional space brilliantly freed the main bedroom up from cases, coats and associated clutter. I found this invaluable for our three night stay and it really added to our accommodation experience. Saying that, the double bedroom still offered good storage by way of an open wardrobe, a wide chest of drawers, and it even had room for a chair and a “beer” fridge – very useful for keeping drinks, salads and yogurt cooled. A tea & coffee making tray and a TV completes my description. The en-suite shower room was small but adequate and had complimentary toiletries. I spent the day of our arrival mostly asleep in our beautifully quiet, restful room, recovering from our six hour dash across the UK and the stress of a delayed night ferry. The following day, however, was enjoyed by exploring the various sandy beaches within very short drives of Coral Gables, the village of Rosslare and the town of Wexford. It is my firm resolution to return at a different time of year for a “proper” holiday as there seems so much to see and do within a half hour’s drive of the guesthouse. I had primarily chosen to stay at Coral Gables because of its proximity to Rosslare Europort and, importantly, because it is a dog-friendly guesthouse. For a doggy stay, it couldn’t have been more ideal. In front of the house is a secure, well-lit off-street parking area that adjoins a large lawn which leads on to the newly established campervan park. This was ideal for early morning and late night potty walks as the park was unused at the time of our stay. Conveniently and thoughtfully, a dedicated poo bag bin is provided. If you prefer to walk your dog off-site, there is a country road next to the property, and – as mentioned above – several amazing beaches within a 5-15 minute drive from the house. Understandably, the only place your dog is not welcome is the breakfast room, but surely any well-behaved pooch won’t mind waiting in its car for half an hour. I must not forget to mention the wide-ranging breakfast menu and the deliciousness of its offerings. It was really very, very tasty and thank you again to Carrie, breakfast lady par excellence. To the best of my knowledge, Coral Gables do not provide evening meals but there are several restaurants and pubs within easy walking and short driving distance from the guesthouse.
Great Quality Pet Friendly B&B near to ferry.

We booked this B&B on the spur of the moment as we decided not to travel onwards on our arrival as we were very tired due to the ferry delay, but we also needed a place that would accommodate our pet dog. We searched online for pet friendly hotels and the Coral Gables came up, so we phoned and spoke to Nicky and told her that we were delayed and we would be arriving late to which she assured us that she would be there to greet us and to her word she was when we arrived at 10:12pm. We had a lovely welcome from her and the room was all ready for us which was spotless and warm which was very nice after a long trip. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows and the room was quiet. We were able to select our choice of Breakfast and time that night to which the table was ready for us in the morning which we both enjoyed and the service and attention we had from the waitress was great. Likes: 1. Close to the Ferry. 2. Friendly Staff (Thank You Nicky) 3. Great Breakfast. 4. Clean, Comfy dog friendly. No Dislikes. Great B&B, will book again. Thanks, Margaret and David and Fudge the dog.
