NO CHANGES, FOR THE BEST!!!
It's not my first visit, to this Lovely guest house! 12 years after,this warm welcoming, friendly atmosphere, is still here! Well located, In a non busy street, you are surrounding by local people, with a genuine food market, nearby. Very convenient, as it is 15 to 20 minutes away from the most beautiful temples of the city. The Bonus is the Delicious Food, real worth it!!! Thanks Apichart, Kim and the nice Staff!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! INDEED.
Ripped off
Not overly welcome to tourists/people not staying there, I had to ask if they were serving food & was told to lift a menu off the rack. I was then ripped off, charged more than the price that was on the menu. Beware - owner obviously tries to rip off tourists
Shanti logde
Shanti lodge has an amazing climat. In the place near hotel is the bar with really tasty and cheap Thai food. The staff were very nice and helpfull. In the room we didn’t have a toilet, we had only a shower.
Base for holiday
Quiet and comfortable, reasonable rates, food, drink, accomodation, laundry, storage for kit when you are away on a hike. What more can you ask for. We dropped in initially for a couple of days while we got used to the change in food, then off to Chiang Mai for trekking and shopping, I damaged my leg on the trek and we had to return early but Shanti Lodge managed to fit us in while I was recuperating.
Amazing stay
After our 16-hour-journey from Germany to Bangkok we decided to stay in the Shanti Lodge for four nights. If you prefer living in a quiet, authentic neighborhood but at the same time central - Shanti Lodge is the perfect place for you. Within a twenty-minutes-walk you find yourself on Bangkok‘s most famous road for backpackers, the Khao San Road. For those who do not want to walk, it‘s possible to take a boat that takes about 5-10 minutes to the city center. The boat station is about five minutes away from the Hotel. In general we would recommend to use the boat to get to the temples, markets ecc (it‘s a cheap and fun way to see Bangkok). The neighborhood of Shanti Lodge offers several possibilities to eat. There are a lot of local street food places to experience the extraordinary Thai cuisine. The food at the Shanti Lodge is delicious as well - especially breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and cosy, the hotel has a laundry service. Moreover I would like to emphasize the positive, cosy atmosphere in the restaurant and lobby (there are a lot of plants)! Summarized: Shanti Lodge is the perfect place to stay for a few days Bangkok!!
