Small modern boutique hotel in good location but no sound proofing

Reviewed 29 april, 2020

The Syama Nana Hotel is a Boutique hotel located in Sukhumvit 11 within easy walking distance from the Nana BTS station. It's a small hotel but in a good location where there is good access to public transport and plenty of restaurant and bars all around. There isno swimming pool, gym, restaurant or bar at the hotel. The rooms are small and compact, and I have free tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, bathrobes, a desk & chair and some drawers, but they do not provide slippers or face washers. Pros: • Beds are comfortable • Close to BTS sky train • Clean rooms • Modern • Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around Cons: • Noise is a bit of a problem and sound proofing is non-existent • The walls are paper-thin & you can hear everything from the adjoining rooms including hearing that conversations clearly and hearing any other activities that I get up to • Rooms at the front you can hear the train right by your window • Rooms at the back you can hear music from bars and clubs until the early hours of the morning There is an LCD Smart TV with a limited selection of English-speaking channels and the has barely ordinary water pressure. It's not a bad hotel for a few nights and more so if you're a heavy sleeper but if you're a lot sleep that you will have problems trying to sleep at this hotel.

Nice small boutique hotel. Good location but no soundproofing

The Syama Nana Hotel is a Boutique hotel located in sukhumvit 11 near the Nana BTS station. It's a small hotel but it's in a good location where there is good access to public transport the Nana BTS sky train 200.m away and plenty of restaurants and bars all around. There is no swimming pool, gym, restaurant or bar at the hotel. The rooms are small and compact, and they have free tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, bathrobes, a desk & chair and some drawers, but they do not provide slippers or face washers. The bed is reasonably comfortable however noise is a bit of a problem and sound proofing is non-existent. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything from the adjoining rooms including hearing the conversations clearly and hearing any other activities that people were engaged in which was most unpleasant to have to listen to. If you are a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend this hotel because if you get a room at the back of the hotel the music from the bars and clubs will keeps you awake until 5 am, and if you have a room at the front of the hotel trauns run right passed the window until just after midnight and start again at 5 a.m. There is an LCD Smart TV with a limited selection of English-speaking channels and the shower has lower than average water pressure. It's not a bad hotel for a few nights and more so if you're a heavy sleeper, but if you're a light sleeper you will have very noticeable problems with the noise and trying to sleep at this hotel.

Very nice place in a very good location.

Very clean, and of moderns design. This is a small hotel, just next to Nana Sky Train station. Very pleasant staff. But; take under consideration... Only Deluxe rooms have a full window. My room was facing the Sky Train, and sometimes in the morning it was getting a little noisy. Coffee is offered only downstairs, and is made from blended ingredients containing sugar. I had to buy my own grounded coffee to keep it in my room. Accidentally I broke a glass. I had to pay for it next day; about $1.70. I think it wasn't very nice. After all I staid there for nine nights for which I paid about $60/night. Note; ladies of the night right next to hotel entrance. After few days they left me alone. Just be aware of it. After all it wasn't so bad, rather funny.

Nice hotel conveniently located

Reviewed 2 december, 2019

We have stayed here twice recently. Both times we booked the larger rooms. The first stay was terrific as our rooms were in the rear of the building, higher up. There was a touch of noise from the next door room but not bad. The bed is great, the bathroom fixtures, small but modern. Room safe. Big tv. Our second stay was on a lower floor at the front of the building which is right on the Sukhumvit. The noise penetration was unreasonably strong. The hotel front door is about 20 meters from the escalator onto the platform of the Nana BTS Station, so the location is excellent. Staff is helpful and friendly. Just ask for a room in the rear or the small, windowless rooms in the middle.

Bad soundproofing

Reviewed 16 june, 2019

The hotel location is pretty convenaient since it is just 100m away from Nana TBS station but the neighbourhood isn't that great to honest (agressive "thai massage girls" in front of the hotel for example). The staff is very nice. The main issue with the hotel is the really bad soundproofing of the room. We could literally hear everything was going on in the other rooms and corridor... we were awaken every night at some point.
