We booked a Golden Wedding Anniversary lunch for 33 at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, both before when planning the event and on the day itself, they made suggestions and last minute amendments that contributed to a lovely day. The food was delicious and well presented. Our guests commented on the quality of the food and what a lovely celebration it was. I didn't have much prior experience of the hotel so didn't know what to expect, but was impressed. I would definitely recommend.

Very clean room, soft pillow, comfortable bed. Soya and almond milk provided at breakfast, as well as vegan spread. Helpful staff. Access and parking at the rear was less crowded and handy for the stairs to the first floor. Don't know if there was a lift. Would stay here again.

The staff are mostly very friendly and helpful. But the hotel is very tired and needs a refurb. The rooms are very outdated the bathrooms are at the end of the room and are cold. The food is average and expensive even for a hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

Really poor home down hill since last visit

Second visit to the holiday inn. (3 months later). Really down hill since last visit. They ran out of larger and most of the food on the menu. Had fish and chips first night, terrible, couldn't eat. When I complained, I was questioned by the bar man and asked rudely to explain what was wrong. Poor service and poor food

The staff were pleasant and helpful, the hotel itself was reasonably clean and tidy and was able to provide what i required during my stay. The rooms are ok, bed was comfy and i slept well. Location is fairly good as just enough out of the way and only 10 minute drive from where i needed to get to. There is a Co-Op right next to the hotel also, which is useful if you need anything, it also has a cash point and Costa machine depending on what you like. I made use of all 3 during my stay as the coffee was just ok provided from the machine at breakfast. However, this hotel is very tired looking and really could do with a lift, the restaurant was closed (as it was on my last visit), albeit I don't know the circumstance but this meant the food choices were fairly basic and the dinner I had was ok and met my expectation for standard pub chain food you get at a hotel. I was disappointed by breakfast, the buffet was ok in general but mushrooms were cold and there was no options of fruit on my first stay and minimal the following day. In terms of the room, be worth modernising some of the features, the remote was on its way out (mucky and horrid, cleaned my hands after using it most times) and be beneficial to add USB ports to fit in with the modern travelling business individual/group.
