Dated but very nice

Nice hotel. Great, friendly, and helpful staff. Everything is fairly well maintained. I stayed a Wednesday night and Thursday night and never heard a freight train. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of room and was clean. Hallways are a bit narrow the room was a tight fit with a cart.
Pretty Typical + Freight Trains

If you can recall the scene from the movie "My Cousin Vinnie" you might be able to laugh when the incredibly loud freight passes by your room at O'Dark-Thirty.
Otherwise, this is a pretty typical Courtyard. Staff is friendly. Bistro is standard. Rooms are cookie-cutter Courtyard.
1. If you travel here, your GPS might not get you there. Look up the Outback Steakhouse. Same parking lot.
2. BEWARE: The Fitness Center is smells like a combination of a musty basement and a wrestling locker room.
This hotel is just OK

A very average Courtyard Hotel. Location is great but the overall property ho-hum.
Make sure to request a room not near the roadway as some of the rooms face a noisy road.
Parking is easy. Overall I rate this hotel average with some below-average qualities.

Never stay here. I came to drop my daughter off at school and stayed the night. I asked the front desk to give me a room not facing I-10 which they did. Those rooms all you hear are cars passing all night. So they gave me a room on the other side of the hotel which I thought would be quiet. Then, at 5am the sound of a freight trains whistle sounded as it passed the hotel and then again at 5:45am. At 8 am the fire alarm went off. I don’t care how much other hotels cost go there. I stay at Marriotts all the time but never this one again.
Pleasant and convenient

We stopped off I-10, for one night, on our way from TX to AL towing a boat. It was a Saturday night during football season, but an away game, so the hotel was not very busy, which made it easy to park with a boat trailer. The staff was very pleasant and offered me a chance to play a quick game for additional points, nice touch. I’m a Titanium Elite member, so they offered us waters and a swag bag. Our room was nice and clean, a little dated, but that doesn’t bother me as much as the cleanliness. Since this hotel is directly next to the busy interstate, they seemed to do a good job of placing people on the far side as it could have been pretty noisy (though they do offer ear plugs). The area seems safe and I’ve never visited Baton Rouge, so we decided to go watch some football near campus, grabbed an Uber and headed out to a sports bar. Campus is just down the road and there are plenty of restaurants and bars conveniently located nearby (there’s an Outback directly next door). I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure, though I’m sure it’s packed every weekend there is a home football game!
