Disgusting, Bug-filled Room + Manager Refusing Refund = Worst Hotel Ever (0/5 Stars)
Checked in and could hear kids screaming from their room behind closed doors as soon as we go to the elevator. Once we arrived at our room, we came to find the overhead light switch did not work. Once we turned on our flashlights, two baby cockroaches (meaning there are more to follow) ran across the floor. Floors were covered in dirt and other dead bugs. Rooms smelled dull and dusty. Bathtub had dirt still on the floor. Mattresses had dark, dirty stains on them (you could see them through the sheets). Within 5 minutes, we were back in the lobby checking-out with refusal to stay in such disgusting conditions. The front desk clerk walked out with no mask eating food - which is especially ridiculous due to recent covid-19 safety precautions not being taken seriously. They offered us a new room, which we happily declined. I called back to discuss a refund to be issues with the manager, Sam. After hours on the phone with my credit card company, Sam refused to refund me as he stated we "checked in on our check-in date" and that hotel policy wouldn't allow for them to offer refunds under these conditions. Apparently, if you check in and walk into a room full of bugs, their hotel policy is "sucks to suck." Honestly I am more upset I can't give a -1/5 starts for this unprofessional, horrid hotel experience.
BUGS!!! NO BREAKFAST - POOL CLOSED
Beware of bugs! Dead and live bugs of multiple types in the room. Had a live house roach crawl on me in the bed. There was a large tree roach alive in the bathroom and several dead bugs around the room. I had to wait for someone to come to the front desk when I arrived to check in.. I called the number on the sign but it rang at the front desk. That was stupid. Nobody was at the front desk in the am to ask for a Grab and go and there is no other breakfast available due to Covid. Attempted several times. The pool is closed due to Covid but the website shows up in property search for the pool amenity.If it is going to be closed for an extended period of time, update the website! We chose it based on the pool being an amenity. The area next to the ice machine has garbage and rags all around it. It is dirty and gross. I called the 1800 number to change my arrival date. They made me pay extra for the handicapped room. He said it was because the standard doubles rooms were sold out. When I checked in she was going to put me in a regular doubles room. I explained to her that they made me pay extra for the room type die to sell out of doubles. She said they had plenty of doubles. He lied. They were not sold out. I am done with Best Western! I stay in a lot of hotels every year. This was a horrible experience! I like to leave positive reviews. The only positive I can say is that the a/c blew cold I have photos of the bugs in the room and the condition of the furniture. If I cannot upload them here, I have uploaded them in a review from Google Maps.

It was ok! Hotel is quaint. Staff is friendly. Price is reasonable but bed sheets were stained. It was out of the way for our activities so it was a drive to and fro! We had to change them ourselves!!!
Break In
My vehicle was vandalized as where two others on 2-16-2020. The security cameras are not operational, plus the dayshift clerk seems to be bothered when asked for information. Still waiting for a direct email or number to the franchise owner to get a refund of room an insurance deductible...Do not stay at this location in Baton Rouge Lousiana....710 lobbdell blv.
Great experience
I had a small sleep over for my daughter and her cousins and friends they had a great time, I love the hotel the staff that I did see Leroy (front desk) and Debra from the breakfast buffet was great I always stay at that hotel, The breakfast was hot ready and available with serval options to choose from. The room was very clean
