LOUD but clean and great location
ughh, I should have listened to the reviews. I wasn’t sure if people were exaggerating about the thin walls but they weren’t. If you are a light sleeper or have ears in general this may not be the place for you. I can hear every step from room above. People in the hall literally sound like they could be in the room. On a positive note, it’s in a great location. Close to Starbucks, Meijer and shopping. The hotel is clean and the room was a little small but very nice.
not even tea?
we arrived here yesterday and were greeted by frosty Jessica. There was no warm welcome. We asked for two queen beds instead of the King bed and she wasn't able to grant that. This is not a problem, but the way she denied it was cold and arrogant. We have traveled very frequently, also internatinal all the time and frequented the Courtyard all over the world. I have yet to encounter someone like her.
Mixed Feelings
Spent six nights here over Christmas. Mixed feelings about our stay. Pro: very attractive facility inside and out. Modern and clean. Friendly, helpful management and employees. Appeared to adhere to sanitization procedures. Comfortable beds. Nice aesthetics. Con: Horribly thin walls, ceilings and floors. Zero soundproofing. Lots of teen skiers also here and treated the place like a dormitory. You can hear voices, roughhousing, furniture being moved, Traffic up and down halls and stairways from all directions. Our first couple of nights incessant noises were heard from above. When we called to complain we were told “no one was assigned to room above us.” Ergo, noises were coming from rooms elsewhere. Eventually we were moved to top floor so no one would be above us. No help. We were still able to hear loud voices, clomping, banging from other rooms on our level. If you’re seeking a hotel for solitude and rest, be advised. Also, the TV signal was erratic, freezing constantly. (ATT ??) The staff was friendly and helpful and responsive but hotel construction is questionable.
Nice, but they need more staff!
This was the second time my husband and I stayed at this hotel. The first time was when they first opened and we were one room of only 7 that were being used. The staff ratio to patrons was good during that first visit. This time not so much. There were a lot more people staying this time, but it didn't seem like they increased their staff numbers. When my husband had a question to ask the gal behind the desk he had to wait for at least ten minutes, he was first in line. She was on the phone and there was nobody else to help. While he was waiting in line to ask about the food vouchers he had received (actually he only received one voucher, but we were told it was good for the both of us, that was what he wanted to verify. They could have seriously just given us two to start with so that there would be no questions when we went to use it) I waited in line to get our breakfast. The line was long, with just two people working.....one that took your order and money, and one that put your meal together. While we didn't have much contact with the gal that was putting our meal together, the gal that took our order seemed rushed which in turn rushed me which in turn irritated me. The only signs that tell what is available are right at the register which means that unless you've got super human vision you can't read it until you are at the register. And since we visited during the Covid pandemic we couldn't stand close to anybody else in our attempt to decide what to get. This could be easily solved by making the menus available for our reading pleasure while waiting in line. Just made for an irritating experience. Once we got our food we took it up to our room to eat. My husband and I both got breakfast burritos and they were very good. We also got a little cup of fruit on the side and everything was boxed up very nicely. My husband was able to upgrade his room to a suite and it was very nice. Two rooms with plenty of casual seating. Well.....plenty of seating for people with longer legs than myself. I love the style of furniture however it was a struggle for me to sit comfortably because when I sat all the way back MY FEET COULDN'T TOUCH THE FLOOR! The gal that checked us in remembered us from our first visit, and that was nice.........the others need to take lessons from her. Too bad I can't remember her name.
Very Clean Rooms
I went up for a weekend stay on a couple's trip. The hotel seemed like it was tucked away on a pretty private street even though it was only 5 minutes from downtown. Very pretty view from some of the rooms. The room was very, very clean. We felt very safe staying there in regards to COVID.
