From the time we checked in, the man at the front desk was very nice. Our room was in the building next door on the 4th floor, 407. It was an OK room and everything worked. Bed, linens, towels, and kitchen were all good. Breakfast the next morning was nothing to write home about. Again the staff were nice.
Nice desk workers don't make up for a roach infestation.

After driving for 12 hours that day, this Residence Inn was a welcome sight. However, upon getting there, I find out that apparently I made a mistake and booked my hotel room for 2 weeks later. The front desk workers did assist me in booking a different room for that night, (however, it was twice the price as Expedia) but my exhaustion won out, I paid the money, grabbed my key card, and proceeded to enter the room. Immediately after opening the door and turning on the light, about a dozen roaches scattered everywhere. Super gross right? Here's the thing. I had to wake up at 5 in the morning, and the last thing I wanted was to go back down and ask for another room. So I just stayed in the roach-infested room for a few hours. It was pretty hard to get some sleep due to being afraid of being carried away by the roaches/the AC turned off and on regardless of whether it had cooled down to the temperature on the thermostat. I've literally stayed in $50 hotels that were cleaner and nicer. And here's the thing, General Manager. I honestly tried getting in touch with you privately. I called and asked for you to call me back, and you didn't. I even tried reaching out to you through LinkedIn, Facebook, etc;. You can give me and the rest of the people who are complaining about the service and dirty rooms your boilerplate "I'll talk to my people, and explain to them that this is not ok" line, but I've literally seen you say these things dozens if not hundreds of times across Trip Advisor and Expedia. Stop apologizing. Stop saying that you'll "let your people know". DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Beg people to come back. Offer them free rooms. Make sure that their rooms are clean. Whenever YOU as a General Manager fail, (yes, I'm aware you're not cleaning the room, but the culture of the establishment starts at the top) you owe your customers more than just an apology. Especially one that looks copied and pasted. The review directly below this one from a couple of weeks ago talks about rusty metal, body hair all over, and things being broken. Two weeks later you have someone talking about roach infestations and broken AC's. If you actually care, show it. Go above and beyond. No boilerplate apologies, no "I'll talk to my people." Provide actual restitution to your unsatisfied customers. Call them to apologize. Do SOMETHING, or you're likely to see this recent trend of 1 and 2-star reviews to continue.
Aggressive management and dirty rooms

When I checked in I was advised that I had to leave my trash out in the hallway, no big deal, but when I was asking questions about this the general manager came out and was extremely aggressive and hostile and told me that “I don’t care what the governor of Texas says“, that’s up totally fine I understand but you don’t need to scream at me right when I check in. When I did enter the room many things were broken, there was exposed rusty metal in the kitchen, somebody elses garbage in kitchen , and body hair in the shower, all in all it was a rough experience. I did bring this to the attention of the staff and nothing was done. I hope to never have to go through that again. I hope that the staff and management can work on being more professional and welcoming to the guests!
Nice room, not so nice service

We stayed her for one night because of bad weather and the lights were out. I paid on Priceline. When we checked in, we were told there was a $90 incidental fee. No big deal. I put it on my CC. We checked out the next day and was told it would be reversed in a couple of days. Nope! There was a permanent charge for the price of the room as told by a weekend desk clerk. I spoke with the manager who told me it would be fixed and he would email me. Nothing! So I go to the hotel the next day for clarification and told he was waiting to hear back from the CC company. Later that evening,.there is a 3rd attempted charge on my CC.
