More about the hotel
Filthy and smelly
I couldn't believe how terrible the room smelled and when I asked for something to eliminate it the response was that's "housekeeping" and they will do something tomorrow? .The room had trash from the previous guests and the shower wasn't cleaned either. The marks and dried soap were still on the corner soap holder. So needless to say I couldn't take a shower in someone else's filth. The manager totally ignored me when I tried to complain. I finally stated I would go to all media and complain. AND notify and file a formal complaint with the County Health Department. I can't believe they wouldn't clean, especially with Covid 19 ? and not even wiping down a shower or removing someone elses soap bar?
ADA non-compliant
My 85 year old father had a kitchen fire. I called to make reservations for him and his service dog and was told a service dog certification was required. When I pointed out that this requirement violates the ADA and that there is no such thing as a legitimate certification, I was told that they don't recognize emotional support animals and that there would be a $20/day fee for the dog. The dog has been my dad's service dog for 8 years, assisting him with balance, retrieving things he needs or anything he drops. He has travelled with Dad for years and even stayed in the hospital with him. He stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Suites instead. There, he was able to get a beautiful, spotlessly clean, fully ADA accessible room with no pet fee or certification requirements for his service dog. He enjoyed his 2 weeks there.
Nice Diggs
Very comfortable, second time around very quiet and loved the suite. The first time the room was nice, but the neighbors were noisy and the morning attendant was not so great. On the second stay, no problems and the staff were fantastic. Plus, with all the Covid problems, most hotels don't serve breakfast. This Quality Inn does and they keep you safe. Definitely a good way to start out your morning.
Shame shame on them!
I am a 70 year old woman who had traveled from California 10 hours away. On check-in I was dismayed and expressed my disapproval that they would charge $20 for my small dog when nothing on the website said any such thing. The pregnant woman behind the desk (with no mask I might add) smugly stated that there was only 2 hotels that took dogs in the area so too bad for me. She also overcharged me and when I went back to my car to get my copy of the bill I had, on my return she dramatically ripped up my paper work and said my reservation was cancelled. I mean...really? I'm sure she will use whatever lies she can to justify her decision but the truth is this hotel DOES NOT care about you. Do not go there. If you do, it is at your very peril. By the way - I went to La Quinta down the street and they did NOT have a dog fee. Plus - way way nicer. So thanks pregnant lady - you did me a favor.
Filthy
Do NOT stay here. If I could rate it lower I would. We checked in for 4 nights. Walked into our room and it was filthy. Dust everywhere Dirt on the bathroom floor. Homeless in the parking lot walking around people cars. The refrigerator had green sticky stuff in the bottom. When I called the front desk to have someone clean the room she told me that they didn’t have anyone to come clean that it would have to wait till morning. I asked for a manager. When I received a call back the gentleman was hateful and rude. I asked his name and her refused to tell me. When I asked is he was a manager his response “ you have one more chance to tell me what your problem is”. I asked again if he was the manager and he then hung up on me. I called corporate and was told that if I checked out I would still be charged for one night but refunded for 3. We immediately checked out and went to the very clean and welcoming Holiday Inn. I have only received $167 refund not the entire refund for 3 nights. I have stayed at other Choice hotels in the past and had pleasant experience. I will now bypass them if I have other choices. No one should be talked to the way that “manager” talked to me. Not to mention the filth shows the rooms are not being sanitized during COVID-19.
