Delightful B&B with wonderful views and great location
We stayed at Ai Ronchi B&B for 5 nights, and had a wonderful time. The room was well appointed, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean, the pool and garden have stunning views of the lake, and the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. And Flavia was great responding to my email queries beforehand. Riva di Solto has a lovely local feel, with good range of restaurants, an excellent gelateria, a small beach and a connection to the ferry that connects the towns around the lake. We were pleased to find great hiking in the area, directly from Ai Ronchi, or easily accessible nearby by car or by ferry. Highly recommended and we would absolutely love to go back.
Beautiful Appartement and a Very Kind Owner
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Ai Ronchi B&B. The view is breathtaking and the lake is close by. There's everything you could wish for and the Owner is very kind and helpful. We will absolutly go there again!
Excellent overall, breakfast a bit disappointing
Arrived very late at night, but even so the owner waited up to see us into our room which was very nice. She didn't speak the best English, but was very friendly and helpful. Obviously arriving at night we couldn't see much in the dark.....so the view in the morning when stepping out onto the breakfast terrace was simply breathtaking! Never had breakfast in such a beautiful place! Unfortunately the breakfast content was a little disappointing. I like a hearty breakfast and there wasn't much on offer at all, but we made do. The room was very clean and exactly what we needed, unfortunately we didn't have a view but that didn't really bother us as we spent very little time in the room itself. The shower was great. On our second day there was a magnificent thunderstorm which was viewed brilliantly from the terrace. The pool area is absolutely amazing, and incredibly, the beautiful pictures of this place don't even do the views justice. We can also recommend canoeing on the lake too, there's a water sports place just down the road towards Louvere which was perfect for getting to see the lake up close :-) Proposed to my girlfriend on the jetty in Pisogne too (she said yes), so all in all, a brilliant trip and a fantastic stay on Lake Iseo at the beautiful Ai Ronchi!
Great lakeview /pool and close to village
Thrilled with flavia (proprietor) who went out of her way to assist us. We Didnt have lakeview room or the room we reserved but were happy with it/ reasonable price value relationship. It Was very hot though- the fan alone didnt help as we couldnt really open bedroomwindows due to mosquitos- but that aside place was great modern clean etc and good common areas. Spotty wifi was awkward sometimes however. Pool on small side but worked! Breakfast good, one constructive suggestion is to have a regular coffeemaker (drip) available for guests as we could not (not allowed) use the wonderful high end cappucinomaker, only proprietor- so canbe handy to also have a filter drip coffeemaker in kitchen for use more regularly making coffee on our own. Owner left fruit/cereal available in kitchen during day which was warmly appreciated
Not professional...very disappointed
We had high hopes about our stay based on other reviewed but were very disappointed. I regret having to write a negative review and do not do so lightly. We (2 couples travelling together) booked 2 rooms for 3 nights. We made the booking about 4 months prior to our stay. The owner telephoned us less than a week before our arrival to tell us that she had mistakenly double-booked one of our rooms. (I have subsequently noticed that this is not the first time that this has happened as other TripAdvisor reviewers have mentioned the same thing happening to them in their reviews - I therefore question whether it was a genuine mistake or not). The owner called and said that she could no longer offer us 2 rooms as per our confirmed booking but instead offered us one room at the B&B and one room in an apartment building nearby. When I suggested that she should honor our booking she said she would cancel our booking if we didn't agree to her alternative arrangements. Given that she only told us about the situation less than a week before our arrival we didn't have much option but to accept her alternative accommodation as most other hotels/B&Bs in the area were fully booked as it was peak season. Unfortunately the alternative room that they owner gave us in the apartment building nearby was not adequate as it was under the roof and the ceiling was too low to stand-up properly. In 80% of the room the ceiling was too low to walk around. The adjoining bathroom was tiny. At the end of our 3 night stay with both had bumps on our head from knocking our heads on the low ceiling all the time. We were extremely disappointed that we had to put up with such a terrible room for 3 nights that was not even located at the B&B. The owner showed no understanding of the situation and did not even apologise - she simply offered the alternative and said we could take it or leave it. I hope other travellers do not experience what we had to go through as the whole situation really left a bad taste. On the basis of our experience I cannot recommend this place and can only suggest that if anyone really wants to take another chance on this place that you call the owner directly and ask her to confirm in writing that you have a room booked at the B&B and not at any nearby apartment buildings.
