A great location and exceptionally clean.
This hotel is in a great location only 5 mins from the U2 underground station at Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park. Very pleasant room (worth upgrading to a suite if you can get one as they have a lovely balcony) which like the rest of the hotel was exceptionally clean. To be honest the only faults I could find with the hotel were that in the advertising for it it gives the impression that the roof terrace is open - it’s not, it’s only accessed by paying to use the sauna. Also, the restaurant menu is a bit limited and the drinks are pricey.
Far from Grim - a wonderful hotel that tells a story while proving you with everything you could want and more!
My partner and I stayed here for two nights to explore Berlin, picking the hotel for it's quirky decor and theme and definitely weren't disappointed! All the rooms and public areas are winningly/tasefully decorating with fairytale stories giving an interesting edge to an efficient, clean and polished hotel. The staff are very friendly and efficient - even gifting us a small bottle of fizzy wine for International Women's Day! The rooms are spacious and clean, and the communal areas bright and inviting. There is a well equipped fitness centre overlooking the city on the 7th floor, and a buffet style breakfast with a huge range of hot and cold options available (I would massively recommend the cake!) Location wise, it's proximity to the metro/walking distance to all the sites makes it a perfect location for siteseeing. Would 100% recommend as a perfect base from which to explore Berlin.
Nice hotel, great location
I stayed at Grimms when attending EFM in Berlin. Great location and within walking distance to both Potsdamer Platz and Martin gropius bau. The hotel was a nice size with not too many rooms. The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was good and with this being a smaller hotel no queue at breakfast time. The staff was very friendly.
Very pleasant stay
I stayed here on a Tuesday night in November. Façade and exterior are not a fair reflection of wait awaits inside. Very positive check in experience and good spec of room. It's slightly further from Potsdamer Platz than the hotel name would perhaps suggest but well linked to public transport. Overall a very good product at a fair price point.
The best budget place in Berlin
If you need to stay near the hottest tourist spots in Berlin this is the hotel to be in. Small and comfortable, great breakfast spread and clean. The rooms are well designed, have great views. The hotel is close to Potsdamer Platz, walking distance( I walk great distances) from Checkpoint Charlie and other must-see places.
