Poor property. Not as advertised. No Air Conditioning. Poor wifi. Bad staff attitude. Small rooms

Reviewed 30 september, 2021

The rooms are NOT AIRCONDITIONED. Only room heating works. And as per the gentleman on the reception, he says we have not mentioned anywhere that there is cooling in the room. When I tried to say that air conditioning generally means that rooms are cooled and heated, he simply replied “Sorry, not with us. We certainly don’t mean that.”

What was rather surprising was, that the hotel informed about this after we checked in and paid the full amount. When I told them, it would have been better if this information was given before check in, the reply was “We have 600 check ins everyday. We cannot keep informing everyone about this.”

Even when you try to manage with an open window, the noise of cars and ambulances from the street are so loud, its impossible to rest. The wifi in the room is very poor. The rooms themselves are small and room cleaning is done only on alternate days. Toilet amenities are non existent. Only a liquid soap is provider - same for washing hands, bathing and shampooing. Whats good about the hotel - rooms and linen are absolutely clean and hygienic.

The entire experience has left a bad taste. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Not up to my expectations

Reviewed 7 september, 2021

I stayed in holiday inn with my mother and we didn't enjoy our stay. Firstly, the hotel wifi it is horrible (it works for 3 minutes and then it disconnects). Secondly, the breakfast has poor options and fruit quality is horrible. However, some of the staff are quite friendly (for example the waiter that worked at the breakfast reception was very, very nice!). I would also like to praise Eddi, he was also always very kind to us. But, the receptionist Maria was not helpful and totally rude (twice). Besides that, we weren't able to sleep sometimes due to an annoying noise of doors hitting the wall. I would not recommend it.

Kept all the money in cancellations fee despite travel restrictions - avoid!!!!

Stay frequently with them for work, however, due to recent travel restrictions imposed by Germany on the 23/10, we are unable to make the last trip from the UK next week, contacted the reception staff to get a solution but to my astonishment, they were utterly unhelpful, incompetent and unfriendly. Booking.com confirmed they will not be charging for this booking, however, the Reception Manager Stefan could not find a way to make the kind offer from Booking.com work, this is a time when we should help each other, I also work in the travel industry and have helped thousands of customers during the pandemic, pitty they cannot be bothered at this property, no interest whatsoever to assist or help, not outside the box thinking, incredible to see this in the service industry in the 21st Century.

Ok but wouldn't book again

Reviewed 23 september, 2020

My husband and I stayed last week for 4 nights. The room was very small and had little storage space. It was a very dark room with one window and the aircon was useless. As it was hot weather, we had the small window open all night which wasn't ideal as, even though we faced the quieter side with no view, we still heard ambulance sirens that disturbed our sleep. The rest of the stay was ok. We had to decide on checking in what breakfast time slot we wanted. We chose 9.30. The good thing was it was self selection - with disposable gloves provided - and there was a good selection. The area was a bit small and crowded but we always got a table. The coffee was awful. No other complaints - the bed and bathroom fine and location good, but would choose a different hotel next time because of the bad points mentioned.

Amazing

Lovely hotel and very friendly staff. Great location near other restaurants. The room was super clean and very warm. It’s so centrally located that you can get anywhere from the hotel especially the tourist sights. Good job much better than the unfriendly hotels in UK !
