Good typically French hotel right in the heart of Town

Lovely hotel right in the heart of town, run by some great people. Rooms were very clean, although, being right it town it can get a little noisy late night (people talking/shouting mainly) Fantastic breakfast and well serviced. Car parking is in the square right outside and is chargeable till 6.30pm and then from 8am I believe. Great stop over, See you again July!

We stayed in this hotel for A weekend While on a trip to locate my grandad s memorial First of all there's no taxi rank so when we arrived with suitcases and any time we needed to use a train it was a 1.6 km walk each way to the hotel !!! While we found the hotel to be clean and the room were cleaned every day the staff were not very helpful We were told food was finished and yet other people were being served After someone helped we eventually got something but felt were were a burden to them One of the days we were looking for the hotel to order us a taxi and was I told to wait 2 mins , but was left waiting yet again while staff went about their business clearing off tables etc So we left without their help yet again While I understand there was a language barrier we felt that they just appeared to be rude Don't stay at this hotel unless 1: you are driving 2: you speak French

I had the unfortunate happening where I had a tyre blowout on the A26. The Garage recommended this hotel and by all accounts it was a very, very good find. The rooms are comfortable although the front rooms can be noisy until the locals go to bed at 10pm! The restaurant is exceptional, lunch was a fully booked affair so decided to go there for dinner. It did not disappoint. Good food, reasonably priced and the wine list is good. I will definitely take a detour next time Im on my way to the South and visit this hotel again.

The food in the restaurant is outstanding. It’s part of the hotel on the main square in Bethune . Service helpful friendly portions huge. We really should’ve shared it with three of us much too much food ,and was great value.

Our annual visit to honeymoon hotel

We visit Le Vieux Beffroi in the last week of November to see the Christmas Fair and stock up on some good things for Christmas. The hotel has changed a lot since our first visit on honeymoon in 1971, but we enjoy our visits and we are always made welcome. In this time of social media the only down side is the poor WiFi, which although free has failed to deliver an Internet connection for the past two years. It is better just to remain on "roaming" and use the excellent local 4G mobile connection. Nevertheless we had a great stay.
