More about the hotel
Totally Disappointed
I have been going to the Golden Nugget casino:hotel since it first opened and converted from the Isle of Capri. I love the casino and I have won many jackpots. They have been very generous and I am so grateful for the experiences I have had in the casino. I also have stayed at the hotel quite a bit and I have never had any problems. However; this past week I stayed on my comps and have to complain because these improvements are much needed. This is a casino hotel, not just solely a hotel but part of a casino! Therefor the revenue that flows through should have no barrier on keeping the rooms completely immaculate. This is not so now. The first room appeared to have been used and barely swept through. The odor was pungent and beds messy. To top it off a pair of used women’s underwear was found by my 10 year old next to the bed. I was disgusted and immediately asked to move. Management came to inspect and profusely apologized. I was moved next door and still the room looked worse than a highway motel. All furniture was scratched and dirty. Dust and crumbs still on the floor and around the room. This is not the standards I believe this hotel to have. Housekeeping ans supervisors are not doing their job well and until they improve I can not see staying even on free comps - it’s unhygienic. Please improve as Golden Nugget is my fav casino to visit and I know they are better than this.
"Felt unsafe"
I was threaten by a guest at the blackjack table and basically no one cared. It was me against a group of men. I asked for security and was denied by the pit boss. I reported the incident the next day to security. I was and still am very upset about what happen that night. I felt on safe on my way to my room. Next day, i stayed gone from the casino until it was time to leave. Never have I experience this in any casinos. I am very diasappointed in the behavior of the staff there. Especially the pitboss that was on duty that night.
A Great Experience
I loved my terrace room, with a beautiful view of the gulf and the sunrises visible from the balcony. My room was exceptionally clean. The decor was classy. The casino workers were engaging and fun to interact with. I was a little disappointed that the room minifridge had been removed. I was also disappointed that Lillie's, the Asian dining venue, wasn't open any of the days that I was there. I had also hoped for a more modestly-priced food venue, such as they have in the Las Vegas hotel (Chik-Fil-A).
Just nasty
It's understandable that they still have damages from the hurricane but not understandable that they have MOLD on the walls in the elevator area. The parking garage looks like a good place to get mugged. Dark and dirty. Common area bathroom is nasty nasty nasty. The barista at Starbucks was rude. Most of the staff seem to hate being here, not a smile, hello our any type of greeting. Stayed for about 2 hours and never saw a cocktail waitress at 9PM on a Sunday evening. Comps are terrible compared to other casinos in the area. If you want to go to a clean friendly casino, try the scarlet pearl or Harrahs.
Not happy guest
I stayed in the Junior suite and the rooms was dirty, dirt on tub, cabinet/closet doors have so much finger prints and dripping marks that could have been wide down, the sheets from previous guests may not be changed because of make up smudges, coffee machine was not working, heater was not working and we have technician to fixed it and noticed the filter was dirty but didn’t take initiative to change it despite that we mentioned it. we asked for bottle water and I was told only for certain guess get it for free. Upon my check in and check out few guest decided to check out and cancel because of dirty room. The hotel room was not well maintained and bad service. Although in the casino area employees, securities and management are wonderful.
