Convenient Hotel
We always stay at this hotel when we go to Birmingham. Our grandsons in the Children’s Hospital there so it’s very convenient. It’s always been very clean with a great breakfast buffet. I also feel safe there.
Loved this hotel and location
This our first time staying at this Hilton family property. Spacious clean room. Nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. They accept pets. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location. Walked around railroad park and plenty to see. Close to medical center and many restaurants. Hotel and staff following Covid safety procedures. Plenty of hand sanitizer in common areas. Will stay here in December.
If your looking for a clean room to visit transplant patients do not book here
Furniture had strange stains. Room was never cleaned even after asking front desk 3 times. THE DIRTY TOWEL STAYED IN OUR ROOM FOR DAYS. First front desk attendant told us we could use the pool after hours but the next night we were asked to leave by the clerk and security 5 min after arriving. The breakfast was something that I could have gotten at a gas station. Pull out bed had no linens and when I finally was given some they were dingy and not clean. I was not impressed and would a night comped
Beware of this hotel - the reviews on this site do not match what we have found.
We are currently staying at this hotel. We booked and prepaid our stay using Trip Advisor. We arrived at the hotel and were told we could not check in without providing a credit card for $100 deposit for ‘incidentals’. Incidentals defined as drinks at the bar - bar is closed; food from restaurant - also closed. Well, the amount charged to my card was $250, not $100. I asked the front desk person why the price discrepancy and was told the ‘incidentals’ deposit is $50 per night, we are staying 5 nights. I was told the unspent amount will returned ‘a few days’ after we check out; they got my money for items not purchased in one day. I will not stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone. Obviously, many of the reviews on this site are false.
Average hotel in a central location
This is a good location for access to the hospitals and UAB. Friendly staff. It is an unusual setup as it shares a reception desk with the Hilton Garden Inn. Breakfast was the usual fare but it was to go only due to the COVID situation. The outdoor pool is currently closed. The room is very large but bland. It could sleep up to six if you used the fold out couch. The bathroom is relatively small but I liked the walk in shower. The "kitchenette" includes a microwave, toaster, coffee machine, large fridge and dishwasher. Expect all the plates and cutlery to be in the dishwasher as they are washed after each check out. Parking in the car park is $12 per night with access using your room key card. Try and get a room away from the elevator as it has a chime that rings when the doors open and close. Perhaps it is deactivated during the night but not worth taking the chance. I am a Hilton Honors card holder so I use the Hilton brand hotels as much as possible. This is my second time staying at a Home2 property and I have been unimpressed on both occasions. Average overall.
