Nice old hotel but located on a downtown late-night drag strip
Reviewed 15 january, 2022
Hotel appears to be located on a drag strip. Cars literally race through the downtown streets after midnight. Bring your ear plugs. Windows are single paned. Otherwise it’s a nice old hotel with updated bathrooms. Rooms are small but appropriate for age of building. Lobby is clean and has a nice little bar.
Sorry But something must have happened to this hotel

I’ve been staying monthly at the Redmond for two years after switching from the Tutwiler. Both hotels are in great locations and Hilton. I changed from the Tutwiler when they lost the bar, restaurant and stopped a wonderful breakfast and moved to more “ standard “ Hilton breakfast with instant grits ( folks it’s a southern thing) The Redmond two years ago was simply great! Restaurant, Lobby bar, Roof bar, great rooms, upgrades frequently. Then COVID hit and the restaurant closed; but luckily the Lobby bar and Roof bar were open. So through 2020 I continued my monthly stay but things began to change for the year the hotel became horribly inconsistent. Not sure what’s happen with the management; but this hotel really changed. Look at the other TripAdvisor reviews, and now mine. Inspire staying there once / twice a month, my check in and check out experiences were never the same. You would think the front desk would acknowledge my Gold status, or say welcome back. But no, sometimes breakfast coupons, sometimes no! Sometimes a water at check in, other times no ! No recognition that I was there the week before. Check out the same, complete inconsistency. Huge staff turnover except in the hotel lobby bar and roof bar. Guess I’ll have to find another hotel in Birmingham; how disappointed in Hilton and the Curio brand But I’ll come back to bar !

Average hotel and not very many amenities. Older hotel and you pay for breakfast. If you ask for a refigerator, you are likely not to get one. Out of the 5 of us that asked, 1 got a refigerator after asking twice and being told both times they’d get one and that it was not a problem. I was also told myself I would get one as well and that it was not a problem but that never happened. Price was pretty expensive especially in the area it’s located. Rooftop bar was the one nice thing about the place. We traveled out of state and stayed here as it was recommended but I am not sure why. I would not recommend to others as there are probably other hotels with better rates and in better locations of Birmingham. You walk one block down the road and you are very likely to run into someone on drugs trying to asked you questions. Almost everything around the hotel was shut down so you had to Uber everywhere. The showers and bathrooms were the nicest part about the rooms.

We ere in Birmingham for a friends wedding. This hotel is beautiful. The Christmas decorations were lovely. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious. If ever we return to downtown Birmingham, we would stay here again.

Stayed here to attend a wedding that was happening at a church within walking distance. The hotel is beautiful but very old and thus several issues such as NO sound proofing (you can hear everything happening in the hallways and traffic noise) and no hot water when showering. It’s a very expensive hotel ($250 + a night) for what you get. Overall I don’t recommend.
