Good place to stay downtown

Reviewed 12 august, 2022

Stayed for a night while visiting a client just a couple of blocks away. I really like the ability to check in and select my own room using their app. My room was on a high floor and even though it faced the road, there isn't much traffic and there was no noise. The room itself was fine--it's an older hotel so the rooms aren't particularly modern but they were clean and spacious. The only issues were a lack of power outlets and no fridge in the room which were annoying but not deal killers for me. Parking seems to be valet only but there is a public lot across the street from the hotel. And since I arrived at night and was leaving early the next morning, the valet suggested I take advantage of the free ample on-street parking just outside the hotel, which I did. During the day you will have to feed the meter.

Classic style hotel with great service & food

Reviewed 3 august, 2022

Birmingham was another stop on our US tour, in part to visit the civil rights institute. We stayed here and were glad to do so. The Redmont has the feel of a classic old hotel that, honestly, needs a bit of TLC. Two lifts and more than 10 floors mean you can be waiting a while. But the old features really do create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, the staff were fantastically helpful as we tried to juggle rooms and daughters, and even the restaurant was great - the lunch we had here was one of the best meals on our trip. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the great time!

Excellent Location

From the warm warning by my Valet, Ronald to the view from the roof top bar this hotel delivers in every way. Convenient Starbucks in the lobby, comfortable bed with quality sheets. Walkable to historic sights, concert venues, fine dining and beautiful architecture.

Confirmed Reservations mean nothing--avoid during busy periods

Reviewed 19 july, 2022

They gave away one of our confirmed rooms and were about to give away the other when we arrived, I learned at check-in. Evidently their plan was to put us (not the people without reservations) in another property somewhere. Instead we crammed into the one available room. The staff was nice enough and the room was reasonably cute, although there was some sort of mechanical banging all night long, so it's lucky we were exhausted.

Rustic Southern Charm

Reviewed 3 july, 2022

The location is in the quiet midst of the Historical town of Birmingham. A Sleepy Southern and rustic charm is what describes the aura of this hotel. I would even describe it as being a bit rugged. The Hotel itself is rumored to be haunted. I would expect it to be so since it's almost 100 years old. It is within walking distance from the famous 16th Street Baptist Church and the Civil Rights Institute. The customer service was superb. A Special shout out of gratitude goes to Crystal, Anthony and Joanna for taking care of my mom and I when I was here. The only 2 negative complaints or critiques that I have would be be to have refrigerators in the rooms. This is needed for people who take medications that need to stay cold. The MOST Important critique that I have would be about their bathrooms. They NEED to have SAFETY bars and shower floor grips in the tubs. It would be very easy to slip and fall. I notified Anthony about this while I was there. Other than that, a wonderful stay overall, and I look forward to a return trip.
