Our ‘#1’ Rating for our 11-day driving adventure.
Just returned from our 11 day Qld adventure, visiting places we have never been to before. Top of our list of recommendations is this Resort located at Blacks Beach near Mackay. It is outstanding. Cath and Nick were the friendliest managers who went above and beyond to ensure our short 2-night stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The Resort located in a quiet street, has everything - two pools, spa, table tennis, pool table, a library. Barbecues and sun lounges are located overlooking beautiful Blacks Beach. Perfect for a long stroll or a swim. The tropical gardens are beautiful to stroll thru. Our car was parked undercover. Despite Covid and the lack of tourists this year, the Resort was outstanding for the way it was meticulously maintained. Our one bedroom older style Unit was comfortable and very clean. I didn’t feel I had to sanitise everything as I did with some other places we stayed. There was a full kitchen and laundry facilities too. There are a couple of small shops nearby but it is only a short drive to the shopping centre and Bowls Club for a great meal, or to the Eimeo Pacific Hotel for a meal with a beautiful ocean view. We are happy to recommend this resort and are looking forward already to a longer stay here when we plan our next adventure.
Return to an old favourite
We love this place, even though it isn’t the most shiny and up-to date property. Such a brilliant beachfront location, and Cathy and Nick are brilliant hosts. We stayed here for the blood moon a couple of years ago, and love it again this visit. We’ll be back!
Absolute beachfront no bull! Only 20 mins north of Mackay.. perfect location
Perfect and right on the beach.. hard to find... lovely little 1 bedroom apartment NO 40... ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT MACKAY... Grassed area out front and 1 minute easy stroll to the longest beach in Mackay. Comfy bed and cosy accommodation.. short drive to restaurants.. only a small kitchen with the basics and tea and coffee. Very reasonable price too.
Friendly and comfortable
Excellent check in with the very friendly manager. Room was spacious. Bed was super comfortable. The kitchenette was very handy. Although it was older style it was very clean. The setting was lovely, very tropical. I would definitely stay there again.
Comfortable stay
Our stay here was comfortable and clean. The studio room was a little smaller than I had expected but it was comfortable enough for our family (2 adults and 1 child under 12). The amenities and guest facilities were suitable for our needs.
