Great place at a good price
We ended up in Blair after driving through a bad winter storm, and had to stay for two nights on account of a broken down car. The reason we chose the Rodeway Inn was, that it was close to the dealership that repaired our vehicle. The first thing we noticed was how clean everything was, and this is not the case at every Rodeway Inn, as we discovered 2 days later. Yes, the place was very basic, but the manager and his family made it a very warm and friendly place to stay. They tried to accommodate all our requests, and always made us feel very welcome. The free breakfast was all you needed in the morning, and the coffee was excellent. We would love to stay there again, when our travels take us in the area, and it would feel like coming home.
Not Too Good Just Average
The housekeeping is below average. I get worried when the room smells like heavy disinfectant. A little more maintenance care would go a long way to making the stay more pleasant. No coffee in room! Breakfast was just some cold pastry. Not much for "extra value."
Needs TLC, not up to Choice Hotel standards
Stayed here one night during April. Outdated, but if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay and aren't picky, it will do. We've stayed at many hotels in the Choice Hotel group, and this property certainly is less than their normal quality. Upon arrival, front desk unattended, so we activated provided buzzer. Female who came from the back seemed inconvenienced by our check in. However, later that night, male staff gave helpful information regarding road closures due to flooding. We would not stay here again, if that helps fellow travelers.
Disaster
1) While checking in, the clerk not only said my room number out loud in front of male customers, but also my sister's room number. We were staying alone, so this was a safety issue. 2) The hotel is run down and in need of updating. 3) The new toilet did not work and after it was working, it leaked. 4) Ants...in my room and my sister's. 5) There was a big cobweb hanging in the stairwell. 5) The door entering the building was not locked at night and actually stood open part of the time. Would have been less of a big deal if our room numbers hadn't been announced! 6) The nasty decorative pillow on my bed looked like it was used outside and then brought in. 7) The walls are paper thin and you could hear EVERYTHING the people next door were doing. The people who checked us in and out were polite, but not savvy in regards to security. I also asked about the "Choice Rewards" for staying there. The guy told me to go online, even though the advertisement told me to ask him to do it.
Best customer service and quality care!
Rodeway inn provided me excellent customer service, a very well kept room, showed me hospitality when I needed it!! I would love to stay again, thank you A K Patel!!! If you need a place to stop I will guarantee you will find comfort here!
